The Collected Works of Witness Lee, 1967, volume 2, contains messages and fellowship given by Brother Witness Lee from May 11, 1967, through January 23, 1968. As mentioned in the preface to volume 1, Brother Lee visited SanF rancisco, Seattle, Vancouver, and Sacramento in May before returning to Los Angeles at the end of the month. He then visited San Francisco in June and returned to Los Angeles at the beginning of July, where he remained until the end of October. In November and early December he spent time in San Francisco and Los Angeles and also visited Modesto, California; Corvallis, Oregon; Vancouver, Canada; and Sacramento, California. There is no record of his speaking in the latter four cities. He remained in Los Angeles from mid-December through the end of the year. The contents of this volume are divided into thirteen sections, as follows: 1. Five messages given in Seattle, Washington, and Vancouver, Canada, on May 11 through 17. Four of the messages were spoken in Chinese and subsequently translated into English. The five messages are included in this volume under the title The Ground of the Church and the Law of Blessing for the Church. 2. Five messages given in Sacramento, California, from May 21 through 23. They are included in this volume under the title Sacramento Conference. 3. Three messages given in Los Angeles, California, from May 26 through 28. They are included in this volume under the title Los Angeles Meetings. 4. Two messages given in San Francisco, California, on June 2 and June 30. They are included in this volume under the title Preaching the Gospel and Bearing Fruit among College Students. 5. Ten messages given in Los Angeles, California, from July 23 through 30. They have been previously published under the title An Autobiography of a Person in the Spirit. 6. Three messages given in Los Angeles, California, from October 19 through 22. They are included in this volume under the title Fellowship on Beginning the Work among Students. 7. Fifteen messages given in Los Angeles, California, from October 10, 1967, through January 23, 1968. They are included in this volume under the title Bearing Fruit in a Living and Coordinated Way for the Building Up of the Body of Christ. 8. Six messages given in Los Angeles, California, from October 8 through November 19. They are included in this volume under the title Messages Given on the Lord's Day. 9. Three messages given in San Francisco, California, on November 3 through 5. They are included in this volume under the title Enjoying the Lord in the Word to Bear Fruit. 10. Four messages given in San Francisco, California, on December 6 through 10. The Collected Works of Witness Lee, 1963, volume 3, contains the messages and fellowship given by Brother Witness Lee from July 13 through September 1, 1963, with the exception of messages he gave in a series on the Gospel of John, which are published in Life-study of John (not included in The Collected Works). The eight sections that constitute this volume are composed largely of messages that were given during the summer training held in Los Angeles and Altadena, California, from July 13 through August 22. The training covered four main areas: life, truth, the church, and service. The messages on life and on truth were given in the evening of each Monday, Tuesday, and Saturday, and the messages on the church and on service were given in the evening of each Thursday. The messages given in the evening focused on these four main areas, and the messages given in the morning were devoted to fellowship concerning personal problems, spiritual problems, the church, the local churches, the Lord's Day gathering, practical service, prayer, and Christian practices. The contents of this volume are as follows: 1. Eighteen messages concerning life given on July 13 through August 20 as part of the summer training. These messages have been published under the title Basic Principles of the Experience of Life. One message, chapter 9, is included also in The Collected Works of Witness Lee, 1965, volume 3, as chapter 8 of Our Human Spirit. 2. The five messages on truth given on July 13 through 22 as part of the summer training. Four of these messages have been published previously under the title The Building of God. However, in researching for The Collected Works, a fifth message was discovered. 3. Six messages on service given on July 18 through August 22 as part of the summer training. These messages have been published under the title Basic Principles for the Service in theChurch Life. Chapters 1 through 3 are included also in The Collected Works of Witness Lee, 1969, volume 1, as chapters 6 through 8 of To Serve in the Human Spirit. 4. Six messages on the church given on July 18 through August 22 as part of the summer training. These messages have been published under the title Basic Principles for the Practice of the Church Life. 5. Messages 6 through 13 of the messages on truth given from July 23 through August 3 as part of the Summer Training. These messages have been published under the title The Work of the Holy Spirit. 6. Messages 14 through 18 of the messages on truth given from August 6 through 13 as part of the Summer Training. These messages have been published under the title A Brief Definition of the Kingdom of the Heavens. 7. Fourteen miscellaneous messages given in Los Angeles between July 16 and September 1. These messages are included in this volume under the title Miscellaneous Messages. 8. Miscellaneous fellowship given by Brother Lee to the saints in the Los Angeles area from July 19 through August 24. These messages are included in this volume under the title Miscellaneous Speakings. The contents of this section were composed from personal notes taken by brothers who were present in the meetings. Brother Lee gave four additional messages in Los Angeles during this period of time--on July 26 and August 9, 14, and 20--for which no record has been found.

The Collected Works of Witness Lee, 1963, volume 1, contains the messages and fellowship given by Brother Witness Lee from January 2 through March 31, 1963. Two additional messages included in this volume were given on December 4 and 13, 1962. Most of Brother Lee's time during the months of January and February was spent in the metropolitan area of Los Angeles. During this time he gave conferences in the Los Angeles area. His first trip outside the Los Angeles area in 1963 was to Sacramento, California, on February 25. After ministering there for several days, Brother Lee returned to Los Angeles for about a week. Beginning on March 8 he spoke in a conference in New York City on four consecutive weekends until the end of the month. The contents of this volume are divided into eleven sections, as follows: 1. Seven messages given in Whittier, California, on January 2 through 8. These messages have been published under the title The Believer's Experience of Transformation. 2. Thirteen messages given in Los Angeles and previously published under the title Spiritual Applications of the Tabernacle. Messages 1 and 2 were given on December 4 and 13, 1962, and the remainder of the messages were given over the period from January 12 through February 7, 1963. Messages 12 and 13 were combined to form the final chapter. 3. Two messages given in Los Angeles on January 15 and 17. These messages are included in this volume under the title Prayer on the Ground of Christ's Ascension. 4. Two messages given in Los Angeles on January 19. These messages have been combined and published under the title The Divine Stream. 5. A series of three messages given in Los Angeles on February 3 and 10. These messages are included in this volume under the title The Key to Our Experience of Transformation--Knowing the InwardParts of Man. 6. Four messages given in Los Angeles on February 5 through 10. These messages are included in this volume under the title Highlights from the Gospel of John. The first two chapters were constructed from personal notes taken by brothers who were present in the meetings. 7. Six messages given during a conference in Reseda and Los Angeles, California, on February 12 through 17. These messages have been published under the title The Practical Way to Live in the Mingling of God with Man. No record exists for the third message. 8. Four messages given at a conference in Sacramento on February 25 through 28. These messages have been published under the title The Enjoyment of Christ for His Increase. 9. Ten messages constructed from personal notes of talks that Brother Lee gave to the leading ones during the period from January 18 through March 3 in the greater Los Angeles area. These messages are included in this volume under the title Various Times of Fellowship with the Leading Ones in Los Angeles. 10. Twelve messages given during a conference in New York City on March 8 through 31. These messages have been published under the title Experiencing the Mingling of God with Man for the Oneness of the Body of Christ. 11. One message given in New York City in March; the exact date is uncertain. This message was spoken in Chinese and translated simultaneously into English. The English translation is the basis for the English edition, included in this volume under the title The Two Spirits in the Gospel of John.
