Smart power integration is at the crossroads of different fields of electronics such as high and low power, engine control and electrothermal studies of devices and circuits. These circuits are complex and are heavily influenced by substrate coupling, especially where 3D integration is concerned. This book provides an overview of smart power integration, including high voltage devices, dedicated and compatible processes, as well as isolation techniques. Two types of integration are highlighted: modular or hybrid integration, together with compatible devices such as the insulated gate bipolar transistor (IGBT); and monolithic integration, specifically through the paradigm of functional integration. Smart Power Integration outlines the main MOS devices for high voltage integrated circuits, and explores into the fields of codesign, coupling hardware and software design, including applications to motor control. Studies focusing on heat pipes for electronics cooling are also outlined.

L’intégration des systèmes de commande électriques n'a été l'objet que de travaux marginaux dont aucun n'a envisagé jusqu'à présent une approche systématique du problème. Actuellement, l'intégration de la commande fait appel la plupart du temps à un processeur spécialisé type micro conducteur ou DSP couplé parfois à un ASlC, dédié à la génération des impulsions MLI de commande de l'onduleur. Cette approche de conception est peu réactive face aux changements de spécification et ne permet pas de traiter certains problèmes que nous identifions dans cette thèse (vérification des modèles, exploration de l'espace des solutions, etc...). Pour résoudre ces problèmes, nous proposons d’utiliser une méthodologie de conception mixte matériel/logiciel qui consiste à développer ensemble le la partie matériel (ASIC) et la partie logiciel (processeur) du système intégré à partir d'un modèle de spécification commun. Comme notre approche se limite aux systèmes de commande, nous avons adapté certaines tâches de .conception pour traiter des problèmes spécifiques tell que la preuve formelle des propriétés mathématiques du système. A partir de cette méthode, nous pouvons alors flot de conception utilisant différents langages (VHDL, Grafcet, Script MA TLAB) et outils correspondants. Dans le cas du Grafcet, nous montrons qu'en modifiant ses règles de fonctionnement en se basant sur l'hypothèse de syncl1ronisme fort. il devient possible de modéliser les fonctionnel. En se basant sur un ensemble de règles et de techniques que nous définissons, on peut alors analyser les modèles Grafcet en vue de l'intégration. Pour montrer la validité de la démarche adoptée. Nous avons intégré, sous forme d'ASIC, un algorithme de contrôle vectoriel de moteur asynchrone. Au niveau de chaque étape de conception, les solutions aux différents problèmes sont exposées En particulier, nous proposons d’utiliser l’algorithme CORDIC pour calculer le plupart des fonctions mathématiques (p.e. les rotations). Finalement. I'ASIC a été prototypé avec un FPGA et connecté au banc d’essai (onduleur, moteur et charge). Grace aux mesures de courant, de tension et de couple, le système intégré a pu être validé.

Le travail de thèse porte sur l'intégration d'algorithmes de commande des machines électriques à courant alternatif. Deux types de commande : une de type scalaire et une de type vectoriel ont été particulièrement étudiés et implantés avec deux stratégies différentes. D'abord, une commande vectorielle a été complètement câblée dans un circuit ASIC, puis une implantation mixte employant un circuit ASIC d'un côté et un processeur numérique (un DSP) de l'autre a été réalisée. Les architectures à structure modulaire qui ont été mis en œuvre comportent deo; unités fonctionnelles réutilisables. La mise en place de ces architectures a été rendue possible à l'aide de l'emploi d'une méthodologie de conception dite mixte. Une interface de simulation numérique/analogique de l'ensemble du système de commande et de la chaîne d'entraînement a, par ailleurs. été mise en place et testée sous l'environnement SPW. Enfin, pour introduire l'intégration du système de commande ainsi réalisée à l'aspect système proprement dit où la puissance doit cohabiter avec les circuits de contrôle, une ouverture vers cet approche environnementale a été développée à travers des mesure CEM.
