So in a pandemic which was even worse than a war, the healthcare industry which was trusted upon by the mankind to protect and treat got mutated. Hi, it's nice to meet you. My name is Coronavirus COV-2. It was I who caused the illness COVID-19, also known as the Coronavirus pandemic, and today I have an international reputation as champion of all sorts of other viruses, most of whom I don't actually know. When my parents created me, they called me Virion. I was tiny and always aggressive, but I lacked a living entity. They said I wouldn't have a life until I'd grown and learned to live. The Coronavirus family, a rowdy group of viruses who use the Human Beings as entertainment and cause them all sorts of trouble, gathers together and reminisces about the past, including various epidemics that they brought about over the course of history, up until the day that the Coronavirus pandemic broke out, leaving the Human Beings confused and helpless. The Coronavirus, whose name is CoV-2, describes how he caused the pandemic while also voicing some harsh criticism regarding the way the Human Beings chose to cope with it. This is the tale of the Coronavirus from an unconventional point of view, whose purpose is to educate children and adolescents about how viruses work and ultimately – how to rid ourselves of them.

The Coronavirus or to use its hippier name, the Covid 19 pandemic has affected everyone across the globe, regardless of race, age, sex or religion. With an astute sense of observation, Christina Thé has been inspired by how people behave in times such as this. “Locked-up” at home for 56 days, she has written these pieces to cheer up her friends and business associates; and to counter all the gloom and doom that is in the news. Though the incidents are all based on real incidents that have happened, the characters have been slightly exaggerated, as this is after all, a book of humour. We can empathise and relate to her stories as it is how we all behave, or we know someone just like that, even if we refuse to publicly admit to such irrational actions. It is an entertaining work written with wit and humour.

While under lockdown, women's work expanded exponentially, especially care work at home, including emotional care work. What the pandemic exposed is the unpaid care work that most women perform. Midway through the stages of lockdown researchers started to do surveys to find out what is happening to women, expressing the results of the research in statistical terms. Yet, this research does not get to the heart of the matter: women's lived experience of an historical epoch - of a virus spreading at breakneck speed across geographical boundaries, condemning the whole world to viral infections, state sanctioned lockdowns and death. This has never happened before, so no-one was prepared for what was to come and how to handle the crisis. This collection of essays captures the existential feelings of anxiety, angst and uncertainty. They also express exhaustion, discovering new dimensions of life and rethinking priorities in the face of a rupture of what has gone before. What we hear in these essays are the voices of women speaking to this pandemic and what lockdown has meant to them and for them. Some essays are written with raw emotion, others in beautiful poetic prose, some in poetry. Through the essays runs a golden thread of coming to terms with a new way of life and what it means to be a woman, a mother, a partner, a friend and a Covid-19 victim in the year that will be known as the year of the pandemic. The writers are from all walks and stages of life and the book represents stories from a range of different countries. This collection of essays will help readers to make sense of the impact of Covid-19 on everyday reality.

How will the Covid-19 pandemic be remembered? What did it mean to people? How did it feel? This book provides a compelling account of the pandemic as it was experienced in the UK. Everyday Life in the Covid-19 Pandemic is a democratic history based on the 5,000 diaries collected by Mass Observation on 12 May 2020. It is a record of what many of these diarists wrote, from a wide range of positions, in a variety of voices and on a wealth of different subjects. The book shines a light on their lives on the day in question, their experiences during the first two months of the pandemic, and their hopes and fears for the coming months and years. The diaries capture much of everyday life in the pandemic for millions of people in the UK and beyond: the activities, events, and rituals (from funerals to working from home); the sites and stages (from shops to Zoom); the roles and categories (from 'key workers' to 'vulnerable groups'); the frames (from luck to 'the new normal'); and the moods (from anxiety to grief). In these diaries, we see what people did when the pandemic arrived in the UK, but also what people thought and felt – how they interpreted the pandemic experience and gave it meaning. We see both how the nation responded and the nation who responded. The book also includes two essays offering expert contextualisation of the diaries and discussion of their value for narrating the pandemic and presenting everyday life.

In March 2020, the world was in panic as COVID-19 becomes an outbreak, infecting millions of people killing more than a hundred thousand ( records increased to millions in August 2020)...Suddenly, our daily routine has changed, as everyone were obliged to stay in their homes, never allowed to go out.... We are all in LOCKDOWN... The very reason this book was made. This year marked one of the most horrifying history no one will ever forget, with the world being attacked by an aggressive murderer, an unseen enemy killing millions... No, this is not a sci-fi movie we dread to watch, this is reality... The cries are real, the deaths are real, the virus is real, invading the bodies, killing people... And if we are not careful, we can become one of its victims...As writers, we want to record this event to inform our future generations, if we, by chance, will be able to survive this fate... The prose, short stories, and poetries included in this book are written by writers of different ages, of different level of education, of different backgrounds, and of various countries, all joined to share their thoughts and experiences while being lockdown in their homes... I have to preserve and record their writings through publication... For our children, and children's children... Some of the more than 100 participants are not professional writers, they are amateur writers open to criticism, but their thoughts matter and should be shared... Let us explore and discover their experiences inside this book called, "LOCKDOWN DIARIES".By Marites RitumaltaPublisher
