Hi, it's nice to meet you. My name is Coronavirus COV-2. It was I who caused the illness COVID-19, also known as the Coronavirus pandemic, and today I have an international reputation as champion of all sorts of other viruses, most of whom I don't actually know. When my parents created me, they called me Virion. I was tiny and always aggressive, but I lacked a living entity. They said I wouldn't have a life until I'd grown and learned to live. The Coronavirus family, a rowdy group of viruses who use the Human Beings as entertainment and cause them all sorts of trouble, gathers together and reminisces about the past, including various epidemics that they brought about over the course of history, up until the day that the Coronavirus pandemic broke out, leaving the Human Beings confused and helpless. The Coronavirus, whose name is CoV-2, describes how he caused the pandemic while also voicing some harsh criticism regarding the way the Human Beings chose to cope with it. This is the tale of the Coronavirus from an unconventional point of view, whose purpose is to educate children and adolescents about how viruses work and ultimately – how to rid ourselves of them.

"I believe there is one temptation that the Genius Doctor Fau will not be able to withstand," said Grandpa Co, "You must share great honor with him, and gently offer him the chance to study the basis of life of our nation, the viruses, the first nation ever to be involved in the amazing idea of the Creation when it created the beginnings of life. "You will not believe who is on the phone," said Mrs. Fau to her husband, "Try to imagine Bin Laden calling President Bush." Doctor Fau listened attentively. He had devoted about two years to fighting the Corona family as the advisor of a few of the presidents of America, he brought them to significant achievements but was still far from reaching a solution. Even the finest Human scientists' ingenious methods of vaccination' were only lasting for a limited period of time and losing their power within a few months. And worst of all, the virus family was breaking every record with the variety of variants it created so casually. As he listened to Vi-ri, the Genius's paced breaths became more rapid as her offer became clearer. Vi-ri's plan was spectacular and attractive. She proposed that together they plan and construct a model that would immunize Human Beings not only against the Corona family, but against the entire viral nation, by defining the "RNA core". The Coronavirus or to use its hippier name, the Covid 19 pandemic has affected everyone across the globe, regardless of race, age, sex or religion. With an astute sense of observation, Christina Thé has been inspired by how people behave in times such as this. “Locked-up” at home for 56 days, she has written these pieces to cheer up her friends and business associates; and to counter all the gloom and doom that is in the news. Though the incidents are all based on real incidents that have happened, the characters have been slightly exaggerated, as this is after all, a book of humour. We can empathise and relate to her stories as it is how we all behave, or we know someone just like that, even if we refuse to publicly admit to such irrational actions. It is an entertaining work written with wit and humour.

Lily is a mother and a daughter. And a second wife. And a writer, maybe? Or she was going to be, before she had children. Now, in her rented Brooklyn apartment she’s grappling with her sexual and intellectual desires, while also trying to manage her roles as a mother and a wife in 2016. Vivian Barr seems to be the perfect political wife, dedicated to helping her charismatic and ambitious husband find success in Watergate-era Washington D.C. But one night he demands a humiliating favor, and her refusal to obey changes the course of her life—along with the lives of others. Esther is a fiercely independent young woman in ancient Persia, where she and her uncle’s tribe live a tenuous existence outside the palace walls. When an innocent mistake results in devastating consequences for her people, she is offered up as a sacrifice to please the King, in the hopes that she will save them all. In Anna Solomon's The Book of V., these three characters' riveting stories overlap and ultimately collide, illuminating how women’s lives have and have not changed over thousands of years.

None of us could have imagined our lives would be struck by a global pandemic. Until it happened, and our lives suddenly changed. Everything slowly shuts down. No meetings, no parties, no movies, no sporting events, no restaurants. Fear of Covid-19 forces us to repudiate our most natural and ancestral instinct to socialise, to deny our innate desire to form strong, concrete, durable bonds with other human beings. So, when it’s impossible to satisfy such an ancient need, and we are forced to be apart from the world, what’s left? Callum Ross, in his darkest moments, discovered that communication has many faces, and one of those faces has the shape of a diary. With all the difficulties of a lockdown that lasted over a hundred days, he found the strength to face his fears and insecurity. When he couldn’t reach out to the world, he did what he could to survive: he reached out to himself. And, as he was locked inside his house, he didn’t just survive: his inner journey led him to a personal growth, to a renewal of his passion for writing, to a mature and complete consciousness of his dreams and hopes. Callum is unique but, at the same time, he is every one of us – he wants to live, to love, and be loved. By publishing his diary he proves that, even when it seems most unlikely, the will to connect and communicate with others is a powerful tool to face life’s hardships. Callum Ross lives in a small town in Fife, Scotland, with both his parents. Now in his 30’s, he has been writing since his early teens. Callum enjoys keeping a diary and has written throughout his experiences with depression and anxiety throughout lockdown. Many issues he addresses in his diary such as his father’s many trips into hospital, his crush on his work colleague Ben and the many restrictions imposed on the UK causing conflicts with friends and family. Callum became an uncle in February and strives to be the best uncle there is.

Family In The Time Of Covid written by Katherine Twamley and has been published by UCL Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2023-08-31 with Social Science categories.

COVID-19 turned the world as we knew it upside down, impacting families around the world in profound ways. Seeking to understand this global experience, Family in the Time of COVID brings together case studies from ten countries that explore how local responses to the pandemic shaped, and were shaped by, understandings and practices of family life. Carried out by an international team during the first year of the pandemic, these in-depth, longitudinal, qualitative investigations examined the impact of the pandemic on families and relationships across diverse contexts and cultures. They looked at how families made sense of complex lockdown laws, how they coped with collective worry about the unknown, managed their finances, fed themselves, and got to grips with online work and schooling to understand better how life had transformed (or not); their everyday joys and struggles in times of great uncertainty. Each case study follows the same methodology revealing experiences in Argentina, Chile, Pakistan, Russia, Singapore, South Africa, Sweden, Taiwan, the United Kingdom and the USA. They show how local government responses were understood and responded to by families, and how different cultures and life circumstances impacted everyday life during the pandemic. Ultimately the analysis gives an international perspective on a global phenomenon that transformed everyday life for millions of people.
