Among the various definitions of artificial intelligence, "machine-made intelligence" and "an artificial embodiment of some or all of the intellectual abilities possessed by humans" are two examples of what is meant by the term. Among the different explanations of artificial intelligence, the following are some essential points: "machines endowed with human-level intellect that can comprehend human-level reasoning, conduct, and thought processes." It is commonly believed that the ability to "apply prior knowledge and experience to achieve challenging new tasks" is what distinguishes a person as intelligent. One may make the case that this is a reference to the inherent wisdom that people possess in the end. In addition to being connected to the capacity for learning, this ability can be leveraged to respond in a flexible manner to a variety of situations and obstacles. A person's learning ability can be defined as their capability to learn new things in a short amount of time and in a comprehensive manner, or to acquire the same information in a more sophisticated manner. There is a correlation between prior knowledge and academic achievement, intellectual reasoning, and behavior; hence, intelligence may be molded via the process of being exposed to new material and training. It is for this reason that "the ability to solve problems" is frequently considered to be the starting point and ultimate definition of intelligence. When it comes to addressing a wide variety of problems, we require individuals who possess a high level of intelligence. Consider the game of chess as an illustration. You'll need to draw on knowledge from a broad variety of sources, such as books, internet resources, and other players, in order to make accurate guesses and put them into action. In order to carry out these acts, a high level of cognitive capacity is required, and it is via intelligencebased learning that new ways of thinking are developed. "Thought" is defined as "consciousness" in scientific contexts, which in turn characterize it as "experience" of an object in its whole.

This book is about making machine learning models and their decisions interpretable. After exploring the concepts of interpretability, you will learn about simple, interpretable models such as decision trees, decision rules and linear regression. Later chapters focus on general model-agnostic methods for interpreting black box models like feature importance and accumulated local effects and explaining individual predictions with Shapley values and LIME. All interpretation methods are explained in depth and discussed critically. How do they work under the hood? What are their strengths and weaknesses? How can their outputs be interpreted? This book will enable you to select and correctly apply the interpretation method that is most suitable for your machine learning project.

Visual Thinking brings the science of perception to the art of design. Designers increasingly need to present information in ways that aid their audience's thinking process. Fortunately, results from the relatively new science of human visual perception provide valuable guidance. In this book, Colin Ware takes what we now know about perception, cognition, and attention and transforms it into concrete advice that designers can directly apply. He demonstrates how designs can be considered as tools for cognition – extensions of the viewer's brain in much the same way that a hammer is an extension of the user's hand. The book includes hundreds of examples, many in the form of integrated text and full-color diagrams. Experienced professional designers and students alike will learn how to maximize the power of the information tools they design for the people who use them. - Presents visual thinking as a complex process that can be supported in every stage using specific design techniques - Provides practical, task-oriented information for designers and software developers charged with design responsibilities - Includes hundreds of examples, many in the form of integrated text and full-color diagrams - Steeped in the principles of "active vision, which views graphic designs as cognitive tools

Here's a holistic guide on how to gain mastery in the art and science of transforming data into meaningful insight: "Unlocking Hidden Patterns: The Art of Data Interpretation: Empowering Decisions with Analytical Precision." The ability to interpret and find hidden patterns in data can go on to be what separates success from failure precisely because, in this information-overloaded age, enterprises have more data than they know what to do with. From the most basic ideas of data types and statistics to more advanced approaches such as machine learning and predictive analytics, the book would immerse a reader in the study of data interpretation to extract actionable insights from raw data-gathering processes, wherein every chapter builds on the previous one. Starting with the avoidance of common views that raise other errors, such as biases and misinterpretations caused by poor decisions, there would be complete training on how to recognize trends and correlations. Unlocking Hidden Patterns will be a rich source for data analysts, company executives, and anyone who seeks to make reliable data-driven decisions with confidence. It is rich in case studies and real-world examples across marketing, healthcare, and finance. In addition to a quality technical resource, the use of data is responsibly and ethically articulated so the company decisions are informed but also with integrity in keeping with the core values of a company. Whether you have years in data or want to improve on the skills that you already have, this book will prepare you sufficiently to tap data and make analytically sound decisions.

Choosing Chinese Universities written by Alice Y.C. Te and has been published by Routledge this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2022-10-07 with Education categories.

This book unpacks the complex dynamics of Hong Kong students’ choice in pursuing undergraduate education at the universities of Mainland China. Drawing on an empirical study based on interviews with 51 students, this book investigates how macro political/economic factors, institutional influences, parental influence, and students’ personal motivations have shaped students’ eventual choice of university. Building on Perna’s integrated model of college choice and Lee’s push-pull mobility model, this book conceptualizes that students’ border crossing from Hong Kong to Mainland China for higher education is a trans-contextualized negotiated choice under the "One Country, Two Systems" principle. The findings reveal that during the decision-making process, influencing factors have conditioned four archetypes of student choice: Pragmatists, Achievers, Averages, and Underachievers. The book closes by proposing an enhanced integrated model of college choice that encompasses both rational motives and sociological factors, and examines the theoretical significance and practical implications of the qualitative study. With its focus on student choice and experiences of studying in China, this book’s research and policy findings will interest researchers, university administrators, school principals, and teachers.

Interactive Data Processing And 3d Visualization Of The Solid Earth written by Daniel Patel and has been published by Springer Nature this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2022-02-21 with Computers categories.

This book presents works detailing the application of processing and visualization techniques for analyzing the Earth’s subsurface. The topic of the book is interactive data processing and interactive 3D visualization techniques used on subsurface data. Interactive processing of data together with interactive visualization is a powerful combination which has in the recent years become possible due to hardware and algorithm advances in. The combination enables the user to perform interactive exploration and filtering of datasets while simultaneously visualizing the results so that insights can be made immediately. This makes it possible to quickly form hypotheses and draw conclusions. Case studies from the geosciences are not as often presented in the scientific visualization and computer graphics community as e.g., studies on medical, biological or chemical data. This book will give researchers in the field of visualization and computer graphics valuable insight into the open visualization challenges in the geosciences, and how certain problems are currently solved using domain specific processing and visualization techniques. Conversely, readers from the geosciences will gain valuable insight into relevant visualization and interactive processing techniques. Subsurface data has interesting characteristics such as its solid nature, large range of scales and high degree of uncertainty, which makes it challenging to visualize with standard methods. It is also noteworthy that parallel fields of research have taken place in geosciences and in computer graphics, with different terminology when it comes to representing geometry, describing terrains, interpolating data and (example-based) synthesis of data. The domains covered in this book are geology, digital terrains, seismic data, reservoir visualization and CO2 storage. The technologies covered are 3D visualization, visualization of large datasets, 3D modelling, machine learning, virtual reality, seismic interpretation and multidisciplinary collaboration. People within any of these domains and technologies are potential readers of the book.
