Unternehmen versuchen verstärkt, den Wert ihrer Kunden mit unterschiedlichen Bewertungsmethoden genauer einzuschätzen. Dabei stehen vor allem zwei Ziele im Vordergrund. Zum einen soll der Beitrag eines Kunden zum Unternehmenswert ermittelt werden, zum anderen wird eine optimale Budgetallokation der Marketingausgaben angestrebt. In dieser Arbeit steht die Untersuchung des Bewertungsansatzes des Customer Lifetime Value (CLV) im Mittelpunkt. Mithilfe dieser Methode sollen die Mitglieder einer Social Shopping Community hinsichtlich ihres Beitrags zum Erreichen oben genannter Ziele bewertet werden. Ein Modellansatz für SSC hat in der Literatur bislang keine Erwähnung gefunden. Dies mag auch daran liegen, dass dieses recht neue Geschäftsmodell - eines der führenden amerikanischen Portale kaboodle.com wurde erst 2006 gegründet - noch ein Nischenprodukt im Online-Handel darstellt. Im Folgenden wird daher versucht, ein Modell zu entwickeln, das speziell auf SCC zugeschnitten ist. Vor diesem Hintergrund werden im weiteren Verlauf folgende Fragestellungen aufgegriffen. Welche Ziele verfolgen Portalbetreiber mit dem CLV-Ansatz? Welche Erscheinungsformen der Kundenbewertung gibt es, und in wieweit erfüllen diese die Anforderungen an eine wertorientierte Unternehmenssteuerung? Welche Herausforderungen ergeben sich generell bei der Kundenwertermittlung und welche im Speziellen für SSC-Mitglieder? Wie können die verschiedenen CLV-Ansätze in diesem Kontext bewertet werden, und welche Kriterien sollten ein alternativer Modellansatz beinhalten, um eine optimale Bewertung von SSC-Mitgliedern zu gewährleisten?
