Jan Amos Komenský (1592-1670) ist bekannt als der große Pädagoge Comenius, zugleich ist er ein großer Unbekannter. Als Bischof der Kirche der Böhmischen Brüder hat er, obgleich durch die Gegenreformation verfolgt, eine grundlegende ökumenische Vision vorgelegt. Dies erfolgte bei der Vorbereitung des "Colloqium Charitativum" in Thorn, Polen, 1645, im Kontakt mit der polnischen Bischofskonferenz und im Dialog mit Pater Valeriano Magni, OFMCap. Danach, in seinem zweiten Exil in Amsterdam, hat er seine Idee des "Christianismus reconciliabilis reconciliatore Christo" in seinem Hauptwerk "De rerum humanarum emendatione consultatio catholica" ausgearbeitet. Hier ist der erste Entwurf für jenen notwendigen "konziliaren Prozess" enthalten, den die Kirchen heute gemeinsam betreiben. Der Band, zum 350. Todestag, enthält, neben Beiträgen des Autors, "Ubersetzungen von Texten des Comenius und seine Würdigung durch G.W. Leibniz im Gedicht "In Comenii obitum" - sowie den Vorschlag des Autors für eine Erste Gesamtökumenische Enzyklika. Dem Jahr der Ökumene 2021/2022
