The Rockswold/Krieger algebra series fosters conceptual understanding by using relevant applications and visualization to show students why math matters. It answers the common question, "When will I ever use this?" Rockswold teaches students the math in context, rather than including the applications at the end of the presentation. By seamlessly integrating meaningful applications that include real data and supporting visuals (graphs, tables, charts, colors, and diagrams), students are able to see how math impacts their lives as they learn the concepts. The authors believe this approach deepens conceptual understanding and better prepares students for future math courses and life. The new All-in-One Developmental Mathematics program offers everything needed to teach Prealgebra, Beginning Algebra, and Intermediate Algebra in one easy-to-use solution. The program includes a complete MyMathLab course with full eText (one Integrated Course Sequence MyMathLab code for all three courses!) and two print-on-demand options: Complete All-in-One textbook with all chapters, or customized text with selected chapters, in an À la Carte format Worksheets with all chapters or customized with selected chapters Instructors can set it up in two easy steps: 1.) Digital Games And Mathematics Learning written by Tom Lowrie and has been published by Springer this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2015-10-05 with Education categories.
Digital games offer enormous potential for learning and engagement in mathematics ideas and processes. This volume offers multidisciplinary perspectives—of educators, cognitive scientists, psychologists and sociologists—on how digital games influence the social activities and mathematical ideas of learners/gamers. Contributing authors identify opportunities for broadening current understandings of how mathematical ideas are fostered (and embedded) within digital game environments. In particular, the volume advocates for new and different ways of thinking about mathematics in our digital age—proposing that these mathematical ideas and numeracy practices are distinct from new literacies or multiliteracies. The authors acknowledge that the promise of digital games has not always been realised/fulfilled. There is emerging, and considerable, evidence to suggest that traditional discipline boundaries restrict opportunities for mathematical learning. Throughout the book, what constitutes mathematics learnings and pedagogy is contested. Multidisciplinary viewpoints are used to describe and understand the potential of digital games for learning mathematics and identify current tensions within the field. Mathematics learning is defined as being about problem solving; engagement in mathematical ideas and processes; and social engagement. The artefact, which is the game, shapes the ways in which the gamers engage with the social activity of gaming. In parallel, the book (as a te xtual artefact) will be supported by Springer’s online platform—allowing for video and digital communication (including links to relevant websites) to be used as supplementary material and establish a dynamic communication space.

Visualization Tools For Learning Environment Development written by Joseph Frantiska, Jr. and has been published by Springer this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2017-10-18 with Education categories.
This brief discusses and explains how an educator can use various tools (Use Case, IPO diagrams, flowcharts, entity-relationship diagrams, information mapping) to help visualize how a learning environment will work. Such tools were originally developed for use by software engineers but as the complexity of learning environments has increased with various interfaces and processing, both educators and students have developed a need to understand the design and development of visualization tools. The primary audiences for this text are K-12 and post-secondary educators and instructional designers who want to use tools that will allow them to develop effective learning environments in an efficient manner. Undergraduate and graduate students in an educational technology class can also employ these tools and techniques to develop their own materials.

Fostering Human Development Through Engineering And Technology Education written by Moshe Barak and has been published by Springer Science & Business Media this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2012-01-01 with Education categories.
Fostering Human Development Through Engineering and Technology Education (ETE) is a collaborative work offered to students, scholars, researchers, decision-makers, curriculum developers, and educators interested in the rich learning opportunities afforded by engineering and technology education. This book provides perspective about the roles ETE might uniquely play in applying contemporary pedagogical practices to enhance students' intellectual, cognitive, and social skills in the service of promoting equitable and sustainable human development. Education about engineering and technology has become an imperative for all people due to the exponential rate of technological change, the impact of globalization on culture and economy, and the essential contributions engineering and technology make in addressing global and environmental challenges. Many of today’s students wish to use their education to influence the future, and school-based engineering and technology education programs meet the needs of these “millennial students” who are civic-minded, team-oriented, and want to make a difference. Therefore, support has been rapidly increasing for the establishment of school-based engineering and technology education (ETE) programs in many countries across the globe. Chapters in this book provide discussion about dimensions of learning; capabilities, concepts and skills for third millennial learners; culturally relevant learning through ETE; and the promise of new pedagogies such as gaming and other project-based learning approaches in our digitally connected world. The author team includes renowned educational theorists, cognitive scientists, scientists and engineers, instructional designers, expert practitioners, and researchers who have coalesced best practice and contemporary thought from seven countries.

Holistic approaches to teacher development emphasize the integration of leadership, pedagogical practices, and cognitive insights to foster growth among educators. Rather than focusing on isolated skill-building, these approaches recognize the interconnectedness of various aspects of teaching. This includes leadership strategies that inspire and guide educators, innovative pedagogical methods that enhance student learning, and cognitive frameworks that help teachers understand their own thought processes and decision-making. By nurturing these aspects, holistic teacher development enhances individual teachers’ capabilities and cultivates a more dynamic, responsive, and effective educational environment. This growth enables teachers to better meet the diverse needs of students, adapt to evolving educational landscapes, and contribute to the broader mission of improving education. Holistic Approaches to Teacher Development: Leadership, Pedagogical Practices, and Cognitive Insights provides an in-depth analysis of the multifaceted strategies necessary for teacher development in today’s evolving educational landscape. It bridges the gap between educational leadership, psychology, and pedagogy, offering insights into how these areas can work synergistically to enhance teacher professionalism and student outcomes. This book covers topics such as education policy, literacy, and classroom management, and is a useful resource for educators, policymakers, computer engineers, academicians, researchers, and scientists.
