This work deals with the acceptance of augmented reality applications in mobile commerce using the example of IKEA Place. Therefore, it will be checked whether these factors apply to the Austrian Generation Y, regarding the purchase of furnishings. Acceptance factors from augmented reality applications in retail that have already been researched are used as the basis. Furthermore, a special focus is given to the gender specific differences in the acceptance of these augmented reality applications. In order to point out this gender specific comparison, the acceptance criteria of augmented reality are determined and described in a first step. It will then be examined which of these factors apply to the Austrian Generation Y when it comes to mobile shopping. With the help of a quantitative online survey, an answer to the following research question should be given: How high is the acceptance of mobile augmented reality applications, for men and women of the generation Y, in relation to mobile commerce of furnishings. It can be seen that the acceptance of mobile augmented reality applications for the Austrian generation Y is very low and no gender specific difference can be identified regarding to online shopping. If the frequency of use and the other acceptance criteria are considered in addition to the use, gender specific differences can be identified. For the acceptance of mobile augmented reality applications in general, the perceived usability and the perceived entertainment value could be identified as significant. Regarding to the Online-Shopping segment, the perceived quality of information, the perceived entertainment value, the perceived benefit and the perceived social influence emerged as influential. In a final section, recommendations for the use of augmented reality in mobile commerce will be given in order to be able to address the target group of generation Y in a targeted manner.

In the context of this master thesis, the acceptance of augmented reality (AR) applica-tions in mobile commerce for the use of decorative cosmetics is investigated by means of an empirical study. The study focuses on women of Generation Y living in Austria. The "Beauty Mirror" by Douglas is used as an application example, with the Technol-ogy Acceptance Model (TAM) being applied to. In a first step, the acceptance criteria for new technologies are elicited and described. On the basis of this, the criteria rele-vant for the research, which apply to the Austrian Generation Y in mobile shopping, are derived. In doing so, connections and relationships are established, which form the basis for the derived hypotheses. Six hypotheses were formulated, which are intended to serve as support for answering the research question. This master's thesis addresses the following research question: What is the acceptance of mobile AR applications for online purchases of decorative cosmetics from the perspective of female Generation Y in Austria? This research question is answered by means of empirical research based on a quanti-tative online survey. It can be seen that more than half of the participants consider us-ing AR when buying decorative cosmetics. This is due to the fact that the target group has a high AR usage in everyday life and especially in the social media sector. An im-portant role in the use of AR is the perceived ease of use, which in turn affects the atti-tude towards the AR application. The positive attitude toward the AR application and the existing benefits generate an intention to use it among Generation Y. If these vari-ables and their correlation are fulfilled, it can be concluded that the willingness to use AR applications by Generation Y is given and thus the acceptance is present. Based on these findings, it can be said that there is acceptance towards the use of mobile AR applications in the online purchase of decorative cosmetics from the perspective of female Generation Y in Austria.

Autonomous Driving written by Markus Maurer and has been published by Springer this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2016-05-21 with Technology & Engineering categories.

This book takes a look at fully automated, autonomous vehicles and discusses many open questions: How can autonomous vehicles be integrated into the current transportation system with diverse users and human drivers? Where do automated vehicles fall under current legal frameworks? What risks are associated with automation and how will society respond to these risks? How will the marketplace react to automated vehicles and what changes may be necessary for companies? Experts from Germany and the United States define key societal, engineering, and mobility issues related to the automation of vehicles. They discuss the decisions programmers of automated vehicles must make to enable vehicles to perceive their environment, interact with other road users, and choose actions that may have ethical consequences. The authors further identify expectations and concerns that will form the basis for individual and societal acceptance of autonomous driving. While the safety benefits of such vehicles are tremendous, the authors demonstrate that these benefits will only be achieved if vehicles have an appropriate safety concept at the heart of their design. Realizing the potential of automated vehicles to reorganize traffic and transform mobility of people and goods requires similar care in the design of vehicles and networks. By covering all of these topics, the book aims to provide a current, comprehensive, and scientifically sound treatment of the emerging field of “autonomous driving".

Tactile Display For Virtual 3d Shape Rendering written by Alessandro Mansutti and has been published by Springer this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2017-02-15 with Technology & Engineering categories.

This book describes a novel system for the simultaneous visual and tactile rendering of product shapes which allows designers to simultaneously touch and see new product shapes during the conceptual phase of product development. This system offers important advantages, including potential cost and time savings, compared with the standard product design process in which digital 3D models and physical prototypes are often repeatedly modified until an optimal design is achieved. The system consists of a tactile display that is able to represent, within a real environment, the shape of a product. Designers can explore the rendered surface by touching curves lying on the product shape, selecting those curves that can be considered style features and evaluating their aesthetic quality. In order to physically represent these selected curves, a flexible surface is modeled by means of servo-actuated modules controlling a physical deforming strip. The tactile display is designed so as to be portable, low cost, modular, and high performing in terms of the types of shape that it can represent.

"In business, imitation gets a bad rap: some business leaders see imitators as 'me too' players forced to copy because they have nothing original to offer. In Copycats, Oded Shenkar challenges this viewpoint. He reveals how imitation - the exact or broad-brushed copying of an innovation - is as critical to prosperity as innovation, especially when the two are used together."--Inside jacket.
