Die wiederentdeckte Chronologie um die Rückkehrsituation entfaltet sich gleichmäßig auf den Ebenen Tage, Wochen, Jahre und Jahrwochen und einem Vorausblick auf den Tempel, den Messias und seine Zeit. Das Motiv für eine Zeitrechnung wird an Jesaja 13-23 mit der Offenbarung Gottes am Anfang und einer damit erzeugten Erwartungshaltung für die Zukunft als Mitteilung für die Nachkommenschaft begründet. In der dritten Auflage werden zusätzlich vergessene Bibelbücher aus christlicher Zeit vorgestellt und exemplarisch deren Offenbarungsinhalte sichtbar gemacht.

Oder: sind die chronologischen Angaben der Bibel inspirirt oder nicht und, wenn letzteres, wie sind sie zu behandeln? Die Bibel verfolgtdurchaus nicht den Zweck, uns ein chronologisches System zu geben; denn sie gibt eine Anzahl Daten unbestimmt, wie z. B. Die Regierungsjahre Davids zu 40 2) statt Jahren; sie rechnet Antritts und Todesjahre der Konige voll; sie nimmt nicht Rucksicht auf eine einheitliche Aera, sondern kennt verschiedene termini a quo ohne jede gegen seitige Bezugnahme, obschon ihr andrerseits eine solche vom Auszuge aus Aegypten 3) nicht fremd ist. Die Bibel schreibt ferner wie der Volksmund spricht und darum werden ihr auch Zeitbestimmungen, wie sie die Tradition im Volke oder in Schulen gibt, nicht fremd sein konnen. Im nun vorliegenden Buch Teil 3, erfolgt unter kulturgeschichtlichen Aspekten die kritische Auseinandersetzung mit der traditionellen Geschichtsschreibung, der maßgeblich die ägyptische Chronologie zu Grunde liegt. Gegenüber der etablierten ägyptischen Chronologie erlauben archäologische, geologische und historisch relevante Forschungsergebnisse bedeutender wissenschaftlicher Persönlichkeiten inzwischen eine ganz andere zeitliche Zuordnung. Auf Grund dieser Forschungsarbeit gelingt in Teilen der Aufbau einer neuen ägyptischen Chronologie. Auf diese Weise war es möglich, ein dem tatsächlichen geschichtlichen Ablauf entsprechendes aussagefähiges chronologisches Gesamtbild dieser speziellen Zeitepoche zu erstellen.
