Diplomarbeit aus dem Jahr 2003 im Fachbereich Politik - Region: Russland, Note: 1,0, Freie Universität Berlin (Otto-Suhr-Institut für Politikwissenschaft), Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Aus vergleichender politikwissenschaftlicher Perspektive stellt sich die Republik Moldau, das frühere Moldawien, als Besonderheit dar: Als einziger Nachfolgestaat der UdSSR verfügt Moldau nach zehn Jahren nicht kommunistischer Regierungen seit 2001 wieder über eine kaum gewandelte kommunistische Führung. Auch in demokratietheoretischer Hinsicht ist Moldau eine Besonderheit, da es mit dieser Führung in der Phase der Konsolidierung der Demokratie Anzeichen für autoritäre Bestrebungen gibt. Aus Sicht der Transformationsforschung stellt sich entsprechend die Frage, ob die Transformation dieses Systems erfolgreich war, welcher Weg beschritten wurde und welche Entwicklungsmöglichkeiten das Land hat. In dieser Arbeit werden mit Forschungsstand 2003 die politischen, sozialen, wirtschaftlichen und kulturellen Transformationsprozesse in der Republik Moldau zwischen 1988 bis 2003 analysiert. Die Arbeit fragt, welchen Verlauf die Transformation in Moldau nahm, in welcher Hinsicht sie erfolgreich war und welche Ursachen gegebenenfalls zum Erfolg oder Misserfolg beitrugen. Ausgangsthese dieser Arbeit ist, dass neue politische Eliten auch in Moldau die Zielvorstellung einer Transformation zu einem demokratischen und marktwirtschaftlichen Staat hatten, dass die Transformation bisher jedoch nicht zu einer in allen Subsystemen vollständig reformierten Gesellschaft geführt hat. Nach einer kurzen Einführung in die die Transformationsprozesse bedingende Geschichte Moldaus in Kapitel 1 werden in Kapitel 2 die jüngste Geschichte und die zeitlichen Abschnitte der Transformation untersucht. Die Einteilung der Etappen orientiert sich an den Staatspräsidentschaften und verwendet hier einen akteursorientierten Erklärungsansatz. Da neben Akteuren auch Institutionen entscheidend für Transformationserfolge sind, werden diese im dritten Teil analysiert. Beide Kategorien werden vor allem dahingehend überprüft, inwieweit sie demokratischen und rechtsstaatlichen Anforderungen gerecht werden. Dazu werden einerseits die institutionellen Garantien für eine funktionierende Demokratie nach Dahl (1971) verwendet, andererseits Kriterien der. Der Außenpolitik Moldaus wird ebenfalls ein eigener Punkt gewidmet. Im vierten Teil werden die Ergebnisse der Transformation bewertet, Ursachen analysiert und die Entwicklungsperspektiven für die Republik Moldau bilanziert.

HauptbeschreibungThe current relationship between the Nordic countries and the European Union appears complex and confusing. Although Denmark, in 1973, and Sweden and Finland, in 1995, joined the European Union, the entry of Norway into the Union was rejected in the plebiscites of 1972 and 1994. Furthermore, Nordic EU members enjoy permanent exceptions to their integration into the EU: Denmark and Sweden, like the U.K., have declined to become part of the monetary union. Finland is essentially the only Nordic country that entered the EU without substantial exceptions. A membership bid from Iceland was unthinkable; after the fi nancial crisis - which is not the topic of this book - Iceland applied for membership in 2010 and has been in discussions with the European Commission ever since. In other words: the European Union divides Nordic societies, which has resulted in a series of national exceptions to the integration process. Taken together, these exceptions have created an integration process whose overall geometry is contradictory and paradoxical. Considering this melange, this book will discuss the actual state of Nordic integration into the EU from many different perspectives and illuminate future developments in the fi eld of integration. Where is the North relative to Europe today? How can the geometry of Northern Europe's integration, developed over a long time, be characterised? A major restriction to Western aid efforts has been a lack of coordination. This book delves into the determinants of successful cooperation between bi- and multilateral donor agencies at the example of Western aid to Eastern Europe in the period from 1990 to 1996. In raising the assumption that networking between international organizations cannot be stimulated by appealing to norm-oriented behavior but is contingent upon the existence of common interests, the idealist view of international relations is seriously challenged.
