Ghislain Lafont, monaco benedettino dell’abbazia di La Pierre-qui-vire, ha insegnato nella facoltà di teologia delle Università Pontificie Sant’Anselmo e Gregoriana di Roma. Nel 1986 pubblicava Dieu, le temps et l’être. Nel 1992 presso Piemme usciva la traduzione italiana della seconda Parte del saggio. In effetti, nella prima Parte l’autore si confrontava con intellettuali per la maggior parte francofoni, poco noti al grande pubblico italiano, in pagine dense ed impegnative. Tuttavia la presentazione che ne offriva Lafont era lucidissima e, dopo più di trent’anni, filosoficamente ancora vitale ed attuale. Per questo la scelta di pubblicarla oggi nella nostra collana, Fides quaerens intellectum. Lafont presenta e si confronta con il pensiero di alcuni esponenti di punta del post-moderno: Leroi-Gourhan, Baudrillard, Heidegger, Derrida, Antonin Artaud, oltre ad Engels, Marthe Robert e René Girard. L’esposizione è nitidissima e puntuale: di ogni percorso, sono individuati i trapassi teoretici nevralgici. L’obiettivo è di delineare le coordinate di fondo del panorama culturale contemporaneo e di verificare se e come sia ancor oggi possibile un annuncio vitale della rivelazione cristiana di Dio. L’autore coglie il proprium della filosofia cristiana nella natura personale dell’essere. Essa si contrappone, in negativo, all’assenza di un’origine personale nei diversi autori del Novecento presentati: per esempio, il gramma come traccia muta, testo senza voce, scrittura priva di autore in Derrida, o l’essere come Abgrund in Heidegger; in entrambi, l’innominabilità dell’origine. La conseguenza per tutti è quella che Lafont definisce «attitudine gnostica»: l’esito comune agli intellettuali trattati è la tematizzazione di una caduta o frattura originaria, ad un tempo necessaria e colpevole (questa commistione di ineluttabilità e colpevolezza essendo appunto lo specifico dello gnosticismo). La via alternativa, in positivo, è ipotizzare un’origine personale: l’uomo non è gettato nel mondo, ma generato da un Padre. È appunto lo specifico della rivelazione cristiana: «principio di eteronomia fondatrice», come lo qualifica Lafont. L’eteronomia, ovvero quell’alterità che libera dalla gabbia chiusa del compatto e della semplice presenza, è un polo personale che rivolge una parola, la quale può essere ascoltata, rifiutata od ignorata: «principio di narratività», nel quale si declina l’eteronomia fondatrice, secondo Lafont, insieme al «principio di analogia» …
