Aquí se recoge una muestra importante de cada una de estas corrientes. Las fábulas de Odón de Cheriton, por una parte, que representan la línea de las esópicas, teñidas como elemento original de un profundo tono satírico contra la sociedad de la época. Por otro lado, las fábulas del libro de Kalila y Dimna, concretamente la versión de Juan de Capua, teñidas también como elemento original de una lógica moralización y a veces incluso cristianización.
