Using Spss For Windows written by Susan B. Gerber and has been published by Springer Science & Business Media this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2005-03-25 with Business & Economics categories.

The second edition of this popular guide demonstrates the process of entering and analyzing data using the latest version of SPSS (12.0), and is also appropriate for those using earlier versions of SPSS. The book is easy to follow because all procedures are outlined in a step-by-step format designed for the novice user. Students are introduced to the rationale of statistical tests and detailed explanations of results are given through clearly annotated examples of SPSS output. Topics covered range from descriptive statistics through multiple regression analysis. In addition, this guide includes topics not typically covered in other books such as probability theory, interaction effects in analysis of variance, factor analysis, and scale reliability. Chapter exercises reinforce the text examples and may be performed for further practice, for homework assignments, or in computer laboratory sessions. This book can be used in two ways: as a stand-alone manual for students wishing to learn data analysis techniques using SPSS for Windows, or in research and statistics courses to be used with a basic statistics text. The book provides hands-on experience with actual data sets, helps students choose appropriate statistical tests, illustrates the meaning of results, and provides exercises to be completed for further practice or as homework assignments. Instructions are provided for using the World Wide Web to obtain the data sets to be analyzed. With this guide, students learn how to conduct reasonably sophisticated statistical analyses using SPSS while gaining insight into the nature and purpose of statistical investigation. Susan B. Gerber, Ph.D. is Assistant Professor of Education at State University of New York at Buffalo. She is director of the Educational Technology program and holds degrees in Statistics and Educational Psychology. Kristin Voelkl Finn, Ph.D. is Assistant Professor of Education at Canisius College. A Gentle Introduction To Scientific Computing written by Dan Stanescu and has been published by CRC Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2022-05-01 with Mathematics categories.

Scientific Computation has established itself as a stand-alone area of knowledge at the borderline between computer science and applied mathematics. Nonetheless, its interdisciplinary character cannot be denied: its methodologies are increasingly used in a wide variety of branches of science and engineering. A Gentle Introduction to Scientific Computing intends to serve a very broad audience of college students across a variety of disciplines. It aims to expose its readers to some of the basic tools and techniques used in computational science, with a view to helping them understand what happens "behind the scenes" when simple tools such as solving equations, plotting and interpolation are used. To make the book as practical as possible, the authors explore their subject both from a theoretical, mathematical perspective and from an implementation-driven, programming perspective. Features Middle-ground approach between theory and implementation. Suitable reading for a broad range of students in STEM disciplines. Could be used as the primary text for a first course in scientific computing. Introduces mathematics majors, without any prior computer science exposure, to numerical methods. All mathematical knowledge needed beyond Calculus (together with the most widely used Calculus notation and concepts) is introduced in the text to make it self-contained.

All Of Statistics written by Larry Wasserman and has been published by Springer Science & Business Media this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2013-12-11 with Mathematics categories.

Taken literally, the title "All of Statistics" is an exaggeration. But in spirit, the title is apt, as the book does cover a much broader range of topics than a typical introductory book on mathematical statistics. This book is for people who want to learn probability and statistics quickly. It is suitable for graduate or advanced undergraduate students in computer science, mathematics, statistics, and related disciplines. The book includes modern topics like non-parametric curve estimation, bootstrapping, and classification, topics that are usually relegated to follow-up courses. The reader is presumed to know calculus and a little linear algebra. No previous knowledge of probability and statistics is required. Statistics, data mining, and machine learning are all concerned with collecting and analysing data.

The first edition of Fundamentals of Cartography was published in 1969 by Prasaranga, University of Mysore. It was reprinted by the Concept Publishing Company, New Delhi in …… While the book remained in currency, the cartographic processes changed drastically when information technology brought a sea of change in the sources of information, drafting of maps and printing processes. Drawing maps by hand became obsolete; surveying whether ground or aerial was no longer the only major source of information. In view of these changes, it became necessary to bring out a new edition. Realising that unless one knows directions, scales, projections, coordinates, ground and air surveys one would fail to understand the proper use of modern information technology in the drawing the maps. Thus the contents of 1969 edition are retained and new chapters have been added to update the book. In Part II of the book, a chapter on Remote Sensing and Satellite Imageries has been added and Part V contains chapters on Computer Aided Cartography, Geographic Information System (GIS), Land Information System (LIS), and Global Positioning System (GPS).
