This book is intended to spark a discourse on, and contribute to finding a clear consensus in, the debate between conceptualizing a knowledge strategy and planning a knowledge strategy. It explores the complex relationship between the notions of knowledge and strategy in the business context, one that is of practical importance to companies. After reviewing the extant literature, the book shows how the concept of knowledge strategies can be seen as a new perspective for exploring business strategies. It proposes a new approach that clarifies how planned and emergent knowledge strategies allow companies to make projections into the uncertain and unpredictable future that dominates today’s economy.

Knowledge is a strategic resource of any organization and its deployment is critical in achieving a sustainable competitive advantage. Knowledge strategies were born at the intersection of strategic thinking and knowledge management. Strategic thinking is a mental process of understanding the future and, based on that understanding, of searching for practical ways of achieving a competitive advantage on the market. Strategic thinking is operating in the opportunity space of the organization. The book explains the strategizing process and presents the knowledge strategies as a result of that complex mental process. Organizations can design deliberate and emergent knowledge strategies, which can be integrated into the corporate vision and its strategies.

Knowledge management (KM) is a set of relatively-new organizational activities that are aimed at improving knowledge, knowledge-related practices, organizational behaviors and decisions and organizational performance. KM focuses on knowledge processes—knowledge creation, acquisition, refinement, storage, transfer, sharing and utilization. These processes support organizational processes involving innovation, individual learning, collective learning and collaborative decision-making. The “intermediate outcomes” of KM are improved organizational behaviors, decisions, products, services, processes and relationships that enable the organization to improve its overall performance. Knowledge Management and Organizational Learning presents some 20 papers organized into five sections covering basic concepts of knowledge management; knowledge management issues; knowledge management applications; measurement and evaluation of knowledge management and organizational learning; and organizational learning.

Emergence is the way complex systems and patterns arise out of a multiplicity of relatively simple interactions. In the framework of emergence, the whole is a mirror of the parts. Existence is fractal - the health of the cell is the health of the species and the planet. Change is constant. This book is about how we can shape the changes we experience to match our intentions using strategic methods that are as adaptive, resilient decentralised, and interdependent as the patterns of flocking birds or differentiating cells. A secular spirituality based equally on science and science fiction.

Designing Knowledge Management Enabled Business Strategies written by Sanjay Mohapatra and has been published by Springer this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2016-07-13 with Computers categories.

This book provides a practical approach to designing and implementing a Knowledge Management (KM) Strategy. The book explains how to design KM strategy so as to align business goals with KM objectives. The book also presents an approach for implementing KM strategy so as to make it sustainable. It covers all basic KM concepts, components of KM and the steps that are required for designing a KM strategy. As a result, the book can be used by beginners as well as practitioners. Knowledge management is a discipline that promotes an integrated approach to identifying, capturing, evaluating, retrieving, and sharing all of an enterprise's information assets. These assets may include databases, documents, policies, procedures, and previously un-captured expertise and experience in individual workers. Knowledge is considered to be the learning that results from experience and is embedded within individuals. Sometimes the knowledge is gained through critical thinking, watching others, and observing results of others. These observations then form a pattern which is converted in a ‘generic form’ to knowledge. This implies that knowledge can be formed only after data (which is generated through experience or observation) is grouped into information and then this information pattern is made generic wisdom. However, dissemination and acceptance of this knowledge becomes a key factor in knowledge management. The knowledge pyramid represents the usual concept of knowledge transformations, where data is transformed into information, and information is transformed into knowledge. Many organizations have struggled to manage knowledge and translate it into business benefits. This book is an attempt to show them how it can be done.

Great Reset Opportunity Or Threat written by Elena-Mădălina Vătămănescu and has been published by Springer Nature this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2024-11-29 with Business & Economics categories.

This book gathers revised papers presented at the 2024 International Symposium of the Business Systems Laboratory, held in Palermo, Italy on January 11–12, 2024. In the last four years, the world has seen dramatic changes in virtually every aspect of global society. We have seen a rapid transformation of social systems and, since the outbreak of COVID-19 in 2020, an unprecedented acceleration of the socioeconomic upheavals already in place - disruptive socioeconomic changes that have since been dubbed “The Great Reset" by the World Economic Forum. The book applies scientific rigor to discuss and debate these disruptive transformations and identify new ways to address the global economic and social challenges of our time from a systemic perspective. It sheds light on the various interactions between natural, social, and economic systems in these turbulent times by pursuing a multidisciplinary but integrative approach that encompasses e.g. management, information science, psychology, economics, engineering, and political science. Accordingly, the book will be of interest to readers from these fields, from both an academic and managerial standpoint.
