The Transition Of The Patent System written by Yuan Feng and has been published by Taylor & Francis this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2025-05-30 with Law categories.

This book investigates the institutionalized process, basic laws, and evolutionary trends of the patent system based on the analytical model of evolutionary theory and deploying a historical and comparative approach. Unlike traditional scholarship that focuses solely on the analysis of legal texts, this book considers the patent system to be both a historical product and an evolving institution that requires a synchronic study of its institutionalization. The author traces the emergence and evolution of the patent system by examining the concept and derivative systems during the pre-industrial age, the medieval period, and the industrial age respectively, as well as the challenges it faces nowadays. By exploring the influencing factors and roles of technology, economy, culture, and power that have determined and shaped the patent system throughout history, the book provides insights into the impetus, principles, and mechanisms of its formation and evolution, shedding light on its future and advancement. This title will greatly benefit students, researchers, legal professionals, and policymakers interested in intellectual property law and policy, particularly the patent system.

The Paradigm Of Harmonious Progress In Energy written by Valentinas Klevas and has been published by Cambridge Scholars Publishing this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2020-07-07 with Business & Economics categories.

This book serves to define the foundation of the idea of harmonious progress in energy. It clarifies the main problem of the current ecological situation, namely the tendency to treat nature as an inexhaustible pool of natural resources and absorber of harsh outcomes of economic activity. Current definitions of progress in this case are equated to technological progress and economic growth, without considering the boundaries of nature’s capabilities. This book proposes a revolutionary idea: treating nature and its laws with major respect, as the foundation of all forms of life, defining the boundaries of economic activity and use of resources. The avant-garde role of energetics is reflected in this idea by replacing fossil fuels with renewable energy sources and, therefore, implementing the obligations of the Climate Change Program. The text analyses current economic problems and defines a clear action plan for their solution, proposing the use of smart grids, urban energetics programmes, and green settlement movements. It also specifies the utmost importance of forests in the ecological system.

Since the introduction of the computer into education in the 1960’s its potential for K-12 education has been widely recognized. The terminology used, at times confusing due to rapid technology change, has continuously evolved. We are in transition to an information society, and the term computer technology has been replaced by information technology (IT) or information and communication technology (ICT). New demands from the information society require education to focus on information management and communication skills, for which IT can be an essential resource. IT offers promising environments and tools to support new approaches to teaching and learning. Despite major investments, the implementation of IT in education has been a persistent problem. And, although it is generally assumed that IT has high potential for improving education, major research findings have only recently confirmed positive results of IT on students’ performance. While there is a vast amount of research on information technology (IT) in K-12 education, most of it is scattered. Until now, a unified presentation of the research from a broad international perspective has not been accomplished. As a ground-breaking publication, the two-volume International Handbook on Information Technology (full title) synthesizes the major issues and directions of research in the field. One major focus of the Handbook is the design and potential of IT-based student learning environments. Offering the latest research in IT and the learning process, distance learning, and emerging technologies for education, these chapters address the critical issue of the potential for IT to improve K-12 education. A second important theme deals with the implementation of IT in educational practice. In these chapters, barriers and opportunities for IT implementation are studied from several perspectives: the teacher, the curriculum, the school organization and educational policy.Curriculum, competencies and attitudes, teacher learning, schools, and international and regional programs and policies are examined, to improve understanding how the implementation of IT in K-12 educational practice can be supported. Additional topics addressed in the Handbook include the role of education in the information society, threats to equity in education and as well various approaches to research in IT in education. The International Handbook on Information Technology in Primary and Secondary Education provides researchers, policy makers and practitioners with an integrated and detailed overview of this complex field, making it an essential reference for all libraries and educators.

Engineering the Knowledge Society (EKS) - Event of the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) This book is the result of a joint event of the World Federation of Engineering Organisations (WFEO) and the International Federation for Information Processing (IFIP) held during the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) in Geneva, Switzerland, December 11 - 12, 2003. The organisation was in the hands of Mr. Raymond Morel of the Swiss Academy of Engineering Sciences (SATW). Information Technology (or Information and Communication Technology) cannot be seen as a separate entity. Its application should support human development and this application has to be engineered. Education plays a central role in the engineering of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) for human support. The conference addressed the following aspects: Lifelong Learning and education,- inclusion, ethics and social impact, engineering profession, developing- society, economy and e-Society. The contributions in this World Summit event reflected an active stance towards human development supported by ICT. A Round Table session provided concrete proposals for action.
