Esta pesquisa investigou a Escola Projeto Âncora, localizada na Rua Estrada Municipal Walter Steurer, 1239, Cotia, no Estado de São Paulo, Brasil que segue as características da Escola da Ponte em Portugal. Implantada em solo brasileiro em 1995 como Cidade Âncora por Walter Steurer, que em 2011 agregou ideias do Professor José Francisco de Almeida Pacheco (idealizador do Projeto Fazer a Ponte, da Escola da Ponte). Este novo jeito de fazer escola se consolidou se apropriando de autores brasileiros e se adaptou ao que foi encontrado como matéria prima. Com isso, o modelo foi se afastando da sua fonte de inspiração, a Escola da Ponte, e ganhou a própria identidade, se tonando a Escola Projeto Âncora. Na atualidade, atrai muitos pesquisadores e olhares de curiosos. Esta nova configuração de escola tem trazido inquietação, pois rompe com o modelo tradicional e nos traz a perspectiva de uma possível Inovação Pedagógica no território brasileiro, pois a relação que desenvolve com a aprendizagem leva em conta principalmente o desenvolvimento da autonomia, da democracia e do desenvolvimento de valores que facilitam a relação e o respeito ao outro, afastando-se do modelo fabril implantado em nossas escolas públicas e privadas. Para desenvolver esta pesquisa, utilizamos estudos baseados em bibliografias de autores que embasam o processo de Inovação Pedagógica, tais como: Carlos Fino, John Dewey, Alvin Toffler, Paulo Freire, dentre outros. Esta pesquisa está caracterizada como investigação qualitativa, estudo de caso etnográfico, com o objetivo de averiguar a existência de Inovação Pedagógica na Escola Projeto Âncora.

Despite great progress around the world in getting more kids into schools, too many leave without even the most basic skills. In India’s rural Andhra Pradesh, for instance, only about one in twenty children in fifth grade can perform basic arithmetic. The problem is that schooling is not the same as learning. In The Rebirth of Education, Lant Pritchett uses two metaphors from nature to explain why. The first draws on Ori Brafman and Rod Beckstrom’s book about the difference between centralized and decentralized organizations, The Starfish and the Spider. Schools systems tend be centralized and suffer from the limitations inherent in top-down designs. The second metaphor is the concept of isomorphic mimicry. Pritchett argues that many developing countries superficially imitate systems that were successful in other nations— much as a nonpoisonous snake mimics the look of a poisonous one. Pritchett argues that the solution is to allow functional systems to evolve locally out of an environment pressured for success. Such an ecosystem needs to be open to variety and experimentation, locally operated, and flexibly financed. The only main cost is ceding control; the reward would be the rebirth of education suited for today’s world.
