Junto con los anuncios en prensa o en televisión y los catálogos de venta por correo, a los que habría que definir como mensajes publicitarios directos, las publicaciones orientadas a sectores específicos han constituido la segunda gran fuente para la recopilación de ejemplos. Las revistas de belleza, de decoración, de fotografía, de automóviles, y las ediciones de difusión general que, como los dominicales de los periódicos, abarcan todo tipo de reportajes y artículos, han sido de obligada consulta mientras elaborábamos este estudio por las continuas referencias que en ellas encontramos a los productos que el mercado ofrece al consumidor, referencias que podríamos calificar como publicidad indirecta. La vinculación de las construcciones medias al fructífero campo publicitario no significa, sin embargo, que estas estructuras no aparezcan en otro tipo de textos. Si bien es cierto que en otros registros lingüísticos el número de construcciones medias se reduce considerablemente, en cualquier situación comunicativa es posible emplear este tipo de oraciones si la intención del hablante es atribuir el éxito, o el fracaso, de la acción a las propiedades del sujeto gramatical, omitiendo para ello cualquier referencia explícita al auténtico agente. Por esta razón, la construcciones medias tienen cabida tanto en el lenguaje que se emplea en la vida cotidiana como en un lenguaje técnico puramente descriptivo e incluso, como tendremos ocasión de comprobar a lo largo de este trabajo, en el registro literario

This collection of texts deals with lexicographical and grammatical issues of Spanish from a contrastive and didactic perspective. It aims at identifying the phenomena which are most interesting for compiling contrastive grammars and dictionaries for the Spanish language by focussing on the latest developments in the field of foreign language teaching. In its first part, the volume presents discussions of the contrastive method in linguistics as well as in foreign language teaching and of the theoretical issues concerning the nature of the tertium comparationis for comparative linguistic analysis. In the second part, it provides case studies on grammatical, lexical and lexicographical issues comparing Spanish with German, Galician, French, and Italian. The volume is laid out as a compendium of a number of key issues for future research in the field.
