La traducción jurídica se puede desarrollar dentro de una gran variedad de contextos jurídicos (internacional, supranacional, nacional) y lingüísticos. Para el presente estudio, se han elegido dos ordenamientos jurídicos nacionales y una materia jurídica concreta, la regulación del divorcio y cuestiones conexas en los derechos alemán y español, así como una clase textual determinada, las sentencias de divorcio alemana y española. Dentro de este marco, se proponen el derecho comparado, la lingüística textual y la textología contrastiva como fundamentos metodológicos. El objetivo consiste en ofrecer datos jurídicos y textuales contrastivos que faciliten al traductor la comprensión de los textos, a la vez que constituyen la base para la posterior elección de una solución traductora adecuada.

L’ouvrage ne se veut ni manuel d’initiation à la traduction ni introduction systématique à la traductologie; il s’agit plutôt d’un ‹Handbuch› au sens de la collection Handbücher für Sprach-und Kommunikationswissenschaft (HSK). Son objectif est de faire le point, voire de pousser plus avant la réflexion sur la recherche en traduction entre langues romanes, sans exclure a priori les traductions dans d’autres langues. This collection of texts deals with lexicographical and grammatical issues of Spanish from a contrastive and didactic perspective. It aims at identifying the phenomena which are most interesting for compiling contrastive grammars and dictionaries for the Spanish language by focussing on the latest developments in the field of foreign language teaching. The objective of the monograph is to contrast the different levels of the two languages involved, English and Spanish, in order to highlight the main divergences found between the two linguistic systems; besides, it also tackles some cultural and pragmatic differences. English and Spanish in Contrast is aimed at adult learners of English or Spanish with some previous knowledge of both languages, but also to teachers and non-native speakers who want to increase their proficiency in any of the two languages. The book is divided into a theoretical section, where selected issues of the Spanish and English linguistic systems are explained and contrasted; and a practical section, which includes exercises to accompany the explanations and concentrates on practising upon those aspects that are a particular problem to non-native speakers and usually, the source of the most frequent mistakes.
