Este es un libro que intenta pensar y sentir nuestra relacin con la herencia y el papel que nos cabe como herederos de una serie de tradiciones pedaggicas. El texto instala, inicialmente, una discusin acerca de la fidelidad e infidelidad educativa y pone bajo sospecha el tejido argumentativo que parece sostener cierto sentido naturalizado del acto mismo de educar. El decorrer de sus pginas no es otra cosa que la tentativa por dudar de ciertos argumentos educativos, tales como: el completamiento del otro, la puesta en el futuro de los ideales pedaggicos, la instalacin de una lgica explicativa, la configuracin de un otro como diferente de lo ?normal? y la imposicin de una permanente e insistente necesidad de cambio educativo, que no suele ser sino una vuelta forzada al exceso de argumentacin. Por eso la idea de ?desierto? argumentativo, no tan slo como una imagen de aridez y sequedad, sino tambin como una invitacin, compleja y nada ordenada, para habitar de otro modo la escena educativa.
