Im Zuge tiefgreifender globaler gesellschaftlicher Veränderungen, ausgelöst durch biologische, politische, demografische, anthropogene und soziale Transformationen, hat sich das Storytelling von Unternehmen gewandelt. Sie sind sowohl Hauptakteure in globalen Skandalen (zum Beispiel VW, der Bankensektor (Weltwirtschaftskrise), Enron und Wirecard) als auch bedeutende Mitwirkende bei der Bewältigung internationaler Herausforderungen. Wirtschaftsethik nimmt einen zentralen Platz in aktuellen ökonomischen Diskussionen ein, da der Aufruf zu einem Umdenken hin zu einer humanen Ökonomie immer lauter wird. Die Erkenntnis, dass der Dualismus von Wirtschaft und Ethik überholt ist, führt zu der Schlussfolgerung, dass Unternehmen nicht mehr allein nach dem Grundsatz 'the business of a business is business' handeln können. In diesem Zusammenhang spielen Führungskräfte eine Schlüsselrolle, da sie einen entscheidenden Beitrag zur Unternehmensleistung leisten. Es hat sich gezeigt, dass Wirtschaftsskandale oft mit unethischem Führungsverhalten in Verbindung stehen. Daher kann eine ethische Führung und Managereinstellung eher zu langfristigem Unternehmenserfolg führen, der positive Auswirkungen hat. Die Forschungsfrage lautet: Wie kann das Management ethische Führung gestalten und umsetzen? Zur Beantwortung dieser Frage wird eine qualitative Literaturanalyse durchgeführt.
