Fokus masalah pada tulisan ini terkait dengan efektivitas layanan perpustakaan yang dilakukan oleh guru-pustakawan setelah mengikuti diklat tersebut. Tujuan ditulisnya buku ini adalah untuk mengetahui sejauh mana program pendidikan dan pelatihan perpustakaan ini memiliki dampak untuk meningkatkan efektivitas layanan perpustakaan sekolah sehingga minat baca dan minat kunjung anak-anak dapat meningkat. Dari hasil penelahaan penulis diantaranya: perlu adanya komunikasi dan kerjasama yang kuat antara guru-pustakawan dan semua guru dalam meningkatkan fungsi perpustakaan; Perlu adanya komitmen dari pihak sekolah untuk merealisasikan amanat UU No. 43/2007 tentang Perpustakaan, khususnya dalam hal pengalokasian dana minimal 5% untuk pengembangan Perpustakaan Sekolah; Perlu adanya couching intensif setelah proses pelatihan dan pendidikan; Perlu adanya kerjasama yang intensif antara Pusdiklat Perpusnas RI dengan perpustakaan provinsi/daerah untuk meningkatkan layanan perpustakaan di masing-masing sekolah di Indonesia.
