We allowed ourselves to be controlled by fear. Like in the case of the disciples, even when the master was with them, they were still afraid of the storm.Haven stayed around Jesus Christ of Nazareth that long and witnessed his supernatural manifestations, why on earth would they still allow any storm to create fear in them? They are supposed to know that such a thing can never be beyond the power of Jesus Christ, the Savior of their soul.They had everything it takes to still the storm, but they chose to be afraid. The same thing happens to many Christians today. We allow satan to torment us with fear unnecessary. We have everything to stop the enemy and his fear but we would rather choose to submit to the dictate and torment of his fear.Fear is one tool that the devil doesn't joke with when he wants to deal with man. When there is fear, he gains ground effortlessly. He doesn't have sleepless night over people he has succeeded in establishing fear in their hearts. He can bother over you when you are acting by faith, but, not when you are living in fear.It is important you know that fear will not allow you to achieve the best of God for your life. God cannot function in a life where there is fear. As faith, empowers him to function, so fear deflates his ability to function. His power to save and deliver is paralyzed when subjected to an atmosphere of fear.Nothing good can come out of fear. Fear kills, fear torments, fear paralyses. We have destiny in God; but, it will never manifest until we conquer fear to its root. In all honesty, we lost more to fear than to satan. Most deaths are deaths of fear; most defeats are defeats of fear.Those who live in fear cannot truly live. There is no life in fear. Destiny cannot be found in fear. Everything that is associated with fear is evil. There is nothing good that can come out of it. Men are not permitted to advance in destiny when they are ruled and controlled by the spirit of fear.I wrote this book to let you know that there is nothing to fear about in this world. Whatever is making you to be afraid is against God's will for your life. God can never be part of fear, so whatever is creating fear in your heart can never be of God.I trust God to help me be part of the effort you are making to live a life that is free of fear through this book. Thirty years ago, it was estimated that less than five percent of the population had an anxiety disorder. Today, some estimates are over fifty percent, a tenfold increase. Is this dramatic rise evidence of a real medical epidemic?In All We Have to Fear, Allan Horwitz and Jerome Wakefield argue that psychiatry itself has largely generated this "epidemic" by inflating many natural fears into psychiatric disorders, leading to the over-diagnosis of anxiety disorders and the over-prescription of anxiety-reducing drugs. American psychiatry currently identifies disordered anxiety as irrational anxiety disproportionate to a real threat. Horwitz and Wakefield argue, to the contrary, that it can be a perfectly normal part of our nature to fear things that are not at all dangerous--from heights to negative judgments by others to scenes that remind us of past threats (as in some forms of PTSD). Indeed, this book argues strongly against the tendency to call any distressing condition a "mental disorder." To counter this trend, the authors provide an innovative and nuanced way to distinguish between anxiety conditions that are psychiatric disorders and likely require medical treatment and those that are not--the latter including anxieties that seem irrational but are the natural products of evolution. This thesis is centred in the question of the Australian image of the heroic. The European settlement in a land geographically alien to, and distanced from, those lands which had been left, and the convict beginnings of the Australian society would have had an impact on the Colonials, their view of themselves, and their relationships between each other and the land. The often violent nature of the contact between the new arrivals and the original inhabitants, and the various turning points of history, such as their involvement in World War 1, have all influenced Australia's concept of the heroic. This thesis examines an historic event to which Australians turn again and again, an event which has become mythologised and ritualised to give Australians their heroes, and a "blue-print" for living. Some of the questions, which emerge, are: What is the Australian experience of the heroic? Does this differ from that of other countries'? Does the celebration of the heroes have the potential to provide Australians with a mystical experience? Could it enable them to live in an "I-Thou" relationship with each other? Scope: An attempt is made to answer these questions by examining the Anzac experience and its commemoration, exploring its impact on the original Anzacs and subsequent Anzacs, and on the Australian people in general. The myth and ritual of Anzac day, from their inception to the present period, are analysed to assess what image of the hero emerges. This image and its celebration are juxtaposed against those of several other nations, to ascertain if differences emerge. The nature of mysticism is reviewed in an effort to see if any of the elements of mysticism can be applied to the Anzac myth. Conclusion: It is argued that the Australian concept and celebration of the heroic differs from that of other countries'. I believe that, although the Australian hero figure was conceived in the "bush" culture, he/she came to birth on[incomplete].
