Nudge Your Health written by Jesse Haggard and has been published by this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2017-11-13 with categories.

Imagine you live in a community of people where there are no doctors, pharmacists or dentists, because no one needed one. It happened less than a century ago, in multiple places on the planet, and this book provides you with simple steps to help recreate it. The primary concept of this book: If a diet consistently results in jaw deformities, irregular position of teeth, tooth decay or gum disease, without orthodontic or dental hygiene interventions, and is a precursor for diabetes, obesity and coronary heart disease, it is not an optimal human diet. The diet presented in Nudge Your Health, Step 2: Nourish is a Paleo, low carb and high-fat diet that promotes the most nutritious vegetables, fruits and animal products. Sample concepts from Nudge Your Health, Step 2: Nourish: Iron deficiency is the most common nutritional deficiency (affecting more than 2 billion people). Omega-3 fatty acid deficiency is the 6th highest dietary cause of death in America. Chicken isn't the healthiest meat choice. Compared to other meats, it is low in iron (which is the reason it is white) and omega-3 fatty acids. Americans should eat more lamb. It has about 4 times the iron of chicken and 8 times the omega-3s. Being a third-generation, functional medicine physician has allowed Dr. Haggard to study and experiment with an unfathomable number of ways professed to be healthy. These include countless diets, numerous exercise and movement programs, varying degrees of daily activity, dietary supplements, sunlight exposure, stress reduction techniques, detoxification methods, meditation and sleep hygiene. Of all areas of health, nothing is more like a religion than nutrition. However, he is not religious about nutrition, nor does Dr. Haggard ask you to believe his nutritional concepts. He simply presents in Nudge Your Health, Step 2: Nourish the science of nutrition, and what worked best for him and his patients over the last two decades. Dr. Haggard asks you to consider the scientific evidence he presents, try the nutritional strategies that resonate with you and keep track of your results to determine what works best. Many view eating for good health as an on and off switch, either they are on a diet or off a diet. Rather than offering a strict and rigid diet, Nudge Your Health, Step 2: Nourish seeks to meet people where they are at and encourages them to do just a little bit of action each day to be healthier, such as make and enjoy one healthy recipe each day. The first two weeks focus on different ways to prepare vegetable-based meals. The third and final week incorporates high-quality, animal meats in the mostly vegetable meals. It ends with an introduction to various types of fasting. Early success following the program will empower you to keep going and make the program enjoyable. Nudge Your Health, Step 2: Nourish is designed to subtly help you learn and implement more than 30 clinically effective strategies of nutrition therapy for healthy weight loss and preventing or treating common chronic diseases, such as Alzheimer's disease, diabetes and heart disease. The step-by-step program includes both conceptual learning with daily written lessons and hands-on learning with shopping for the ingredients, preparing the meals and tracking your results. By the end of the Nudge Your Health, Step 2: Nourish program, you will have an excellent collection of nutritional tools, knowledge and experience that you can use to help you be healthy and better manage your body weight.

There's so much confusion about what to eat. Are you jumping from diet to diet and nothing seems to work? Are you sick of seeing contradictory health advice from experts? At a time when both obesity and eating disorders are on the rise, Harvard graduate and former Miss Virginia Nancy Redd provides a much- needed resource for millions of young women and concerned parents. In her uniquely reassuring "big sister" voice and with a fresh, fun, and frank attitude that has made her the nation's go-to girl for body issues, Nancy addresses the common, painful, and shameful "diet dramas" that most mainstream diet and nutrition books miss, including: "I think I'm healthy, but medical charts say I'm not"; "I can't afford a gym so I can't exercise properly"; and "I just want to have weight loss surgery and be done with it." Nancy's advice is vetted by a leading adolescent medicine expert and the book is packed with informative "fast facts," moving personal anecdotes of Nancy's own diet experiences, and revolutionary real-deal four-color photographs of young women sized 2 to 22. Finally, a food and fitness book that doesn't condescend or blame, Diet Drama begins with body image and shows readers that health comes in all shapes and sizes. Watch a Video

"I've worked side by side with Dr. Pescatore for many years. In this book--which I heartily recommend--Dr. Pescatore teaches you how to bring health and nutrition to the next generation."--Robert C. Atkins, M.D., author of the multimillion copy bestseller Dr. Atkins' New Diet Revolution. "Feed Your Kids Well offers a sensible approach to the difficult problem of childhood obesity--and many other children's health problems. Dr. Pescatore provides parents with excellent strategies for dealing with their children in a positive, sensitive way."--Carol Colman, coauthor of the New York Times bestseller The Melatonin Miracle. "Feed Your Kids Well is an excellent book that explains the importance of a well-balanced diet. It exposes the dangers associated with high-sugar foods and reveals the true cause of childhood obesity."--Joyce and Gene Daoust, authors of 40-30-30 Fat Burning Nutrition. "I helped nutritionally vet Adelle Davis's book, Let's Have Healthy Children. In my opinion, Feed Your Kids Well replaces that important work."--Fran Gare, nutrition expert, CBS-TV. Today, one-third of North American children and teenagers are overweight. And despite decades of medical and scientific breakthroughs, the percentage of children with health problems today is the highest in history. Feed Your Kids Well will be a revelation for millions of worried parents. Dr. Fred Pescatore, who was overweight and asthmatic as a child, brings an empathetic and hopeful tone to this groundbreaking guide to achieving optimum nutrition, ideal health, and self-confidence. Building on the low-carbohydrate principles of the hugely popular Dr. Atkins' New Diet Revolution--which has helped millions of adults lose weight permanently--Dr. Pescatore applies the Atkins Center's proven nutritional program to children and teenagers. Thoroughly tested over years of exhaustive research, his Next Generation Diet is the first health program to recognize that simply applying adult diet plans to children is ineffective--and often dangerous. The author argues that the real culprit behind dietary problems is not fat, but sugars and starches. Feed Your Kids Well brings something new to the table: sane and practical guidance for parents concerned not only about weight loss, but also about general wellness and the prevention of disease--from asthma to ADD, from earaches to allergies. After explaining how your child's body and metabolism work, Dr. Pescatore clearly outlines a straightforward nutritional lifestyle program that helps parents shape the important building blocks--proteins, fats, and carbohydrates--into complete, well-balanced meals. Packed with easy-to-follow sample menus for every day of the week, this book provides delicious, healthy alternatives. Kids will love the dozens of simple, step-by-step recipes for a variety of dishes, including pancakes with strawberry topping, chicken fingers, beef tacos, fudgy brownie squares, and peanut butter cookies. Some recipes are easy enough for kids to make themselves! Parents will also learn how to integrate effective nutrition with various vitamin supplements, complementary medical treatments, and a regular exercise program, which can help heal and even prevent childhood ailments. With fascinating case studies, Dr. Pescatore demonstrates how to treat these problems simply by monitoring nutrient deficiencies and sugar overload. In childhood, the all-important seeds of our adult selves are planted--from our personalities to our eating habits. Feed Your Kids Well helps parents prepare their children for healthy, happy lives.
