This book presents the interplay between topological Markov shifts and Cuntz–Krieger algebras by providing notations, techniques, and ideas in detail. The main goal of this book is to provide a detailed proof of a classification theorem for continuous orbit equivalence of one-sided topological Markov shifts. The continuous orbit equivalence of one-sided topological Markov shifts is classified in terms of several different mathematical objects: the étale groupoids, the actions of the continuous full groups on the Markov shifts, the algebraic type of continuous full groups, the Cuntz–Krieger algebras, and the K-theory dates of the Cuntz–Krieger algebras. This classification result shows that topological Markov shifts have deep connections with not only operator algebras but also groupoid theory, infinite non-amenable groups, group actions, graph theory, linear algebras, K-theory, and so on. By using this classification result, the complete classification of flow equivalence in two-sided topological Markov shifts is described in terms of Cuntz–Krieger algebras. The author will also study the relationship between the topological conjugacy of topological Markov shifts and the gauge actions of Cuntz–Krieger algebras.

A recurring theme in a traditional introductory graduate algebra course is the existence and consequences of relationships between different algebraic structures. This is also the theme of this book, an exposition of connections between representations of finite partially ordered sets and abelian groups. Emphasis is placed throughout on classification, a description of the objects up to isomorphism, and computation of representation type, a measure of when classification is feasible. David M. Arnold is the Ralph and Jean Storm Professor of Mathematics at Baylor University. He is the author of "Finite Rank Torsion Free Abelian Groups and Rings" published in the Springer-Verlag Lecture Notes in Mathematics series, a co-editor for two volumes of conference proceedings, and the author of numerous articles in mathematical research journals. His research interests are in abelian group theory and related topics, such as representations of partially ordered sets and modules over discrete valuation rings, subrings of algebraic number fields, and pullback rings. He received his Ph. D. from the University of Illinois, Urbana and was a member of the faculty at New Mexico State University for many years.

Accosiative rings and algebras are very interesting algebraic structures. In a strict sense, the theory of algebras (in particular, noncommutative algebras) originated fromasingleexample, namelythequaternions, createdbySirWilliamR.Hamilton in1843. Thiswasthe?rstexampleofanoncommutative”numbersystem”. During thenextfortyyearsmathematiciansintroducedotherexamplesofnoncommutative algebras, began to bring some order into them and to single out certain types of algebras for special attention. Thus, low-dimensional algebras, division algebras, and commutative algebras, were classi?ed and characterized. The ?rst complete results in the structure theory of associative algebras over the real and complex ?elds were obtained by T.Molien, E.Cartan and G.Frobenius. Modern ring theory began when J.H.Wedderburn proved his celebrated cl- si?cation theorem for ?nite dimensional semisimple algebras over arbitrary ?elds. Twenty years later, E.Artin proved a structure theorem for rings satisfying both the ascending and descending chain condition which generalized Wedderburn structure theorem. The Wedderburn-Artin theorem has since become a corn- stone of noncommutative ring theory. The purpose of this book is to introduce the subject of the structure theory of associative rings. This book is addressed to a reader who wishes to learn this topic from the beginning to research level. We have tried to write a self-contained book which is intended to be a modern textbook on the structure theory of associative rings and related structures and will be accessible for independent study.

The theory of idempotent matrices with entries in complex group algebras has recently experienced a revival, in view of its close relationship with deep geometric problems and conjectures. The relevant questions studied in this book for general groups are motivated by specific examples. A variety of techniques is employed from commutative algebra, homological algebra and functional analysis. The book can serve as an introduction to this lively research area. The pace is suitable for independent study and the level of the presentation not very demanding. The exercises at the end of each chapter form an essential part of the book.

Graduate Algebra Commutative View written by Louis Halle Rowen and has been published by American Mathematical Soc. this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2006 with Mathematics categories.
This book is an expanded text for a graduate course in commutative algebra, focusing on the algebraic underpinnings of algebraic geometry and of number theory. Accordingly, the theory of affine algebras is featured, treated both directly and via the theory of Noetherian and Artinian modules, and the theory of graded algebras is included to provide the foundation for projective varieties. Major topics include the theory of modules over a principal ideal domain, and its applications to matrix theory (including the Jordan decomposition), the Galois theory of field extensions, transcendence degree, the prime spectrum of an algebra, localization, and the classical theory of Noetherian and Artinian rings. Later chapters include some algebraic theory of elliptic curves (featuring the Mordell-Weil theorem) and valuation theory, including local fields. One feature of the book is an extension of the text through a series of appendices. This permits the inclusion of more advanced material, such as transcendental field extensions, the discriminant and resultant, the theory of Dedekind domains, and basic theorems of rings of algebraic integers. An extended appendix on derivations includes the Jacobian conjecture and Makar-Limanov's theory of locally nilpotent derivations. Grobner bases can be found in another appendix. Exercises provide a further extension of the text. The book can be used both as a textbook and as a reference source.

The Polynomial Identities And Invariants Of N X N Matrices written by Edward Formanek and has been published by American Mathematical Soc. this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on with Mathematics categories.
The theory of polynomial identities, as a well-defined field of study, began with a well-known 1948 article of Kaplansky. The field has since developed along two branches: the structural, which investigates the properties of rings which satisfy a polynomial identity; and the varietal, which investigates the set of polynomials in the free ring which vanish under all specializations in a given ring. This book is based on lectures delivered during an NSF-CBMS Regional Conference, held at DePaul University in July 1990, at which the author was the principal lecturer. The first part of the book is concerned with polynomial identity rings. The emphasis is on those parts of the theory related to n x n matrices, including the major structure theorems and the construction of certain polynomials identities and central polynomials for n x n matrices. The ring of generic matrices and its centre is described. The author then moves on to the invariants of n x n matrices, beginning with the first and second fundamental theorems, which are used to describe the polynomial identities satisfied by n x n matrices. One of the exceptional features of this book is the way it emphasizes the connection between polynomial identities and invariants of n x n matrices. Accessible to those with background at the level of a first-year graduate course in algebra, this book gives readers an understanding of polynomial identity rings and invariant theory, as well as an indication of current problems and research in these areas.
