Charlie lives in a quiet seaside town where the seagulls make more noise than the traffic and there are more lampposts on the streets than people. He has two divorces behind him as well as an adopted daughter and a string of affairs. He drinks a lot, but not too much, smokes but keeps himself fit. He lives on his own with only his conscience for company which he calls Jacaranda Jake. He feels that by giving his conscience a name it becomes a third person and he can deal with his issues objectively. All is going boringly, and uneventfully, well until one day he meets Jessica, a much younger, and very sexy, vision of beauty that he has dreamed about all his life. Somehow they hit it off, and soon Charlie's safe lifestyle is once again heading for torment. Jessica was adopted, and her foster parents take an immediate dislike to Charlie, mainly due to the fact that he is twice her age. Unfortunately for Charlie Jessica's background has many links with his own daughter's adoption. Soon Charlie is fighting with his conscience, Jake, about his relationship with Jessica, but Charlie being Charlie he further complicates his life by finding out that her birth mother is possibly his former lover. He returns to his original home to clarify matters and having done so finds himself, once again, having sex with her. On his return to his south coast home Jessica's adopted mother falls foul of her husband's best friend and Charlie comes to her rescue. So, Charlie has met the girl he thinks is his daughter that he left behind when he left his Merseyside home. He has resumed his relationship with her birth mother, met her adopted mother and found himself sharing his life with his distant past. His life has gone full circle.

Full Circle is the second book in a trilogy depicting the Devon family's generational odyssey from mid-19th century to mid-20th century. The first book, Wolves at the Door, covers the years 1860-1903. This book, Full Circle, is set in the years 1904-1944, which were not easy for the Devons. Father Tom and mother Catherine, along with their two children Walter and Marion, struggle to make their way through some of the more pivotal events of the early 20th century. Full Circle offers a well-researched slice of Americana during an uproarious time. Follow the family as they make their life initially in the lawless and violent mining towns of the New Mexico and Colorado, and then eventually "back east" in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Continue following their saga as writer Thomas Chown beckons back to the tragedies surrounding World War I, and describes this important period in American history with intricate descriptions and entertaining dialogue.

Full Circle written by Edith Kurzweil and has been published by Transaction Publishers this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2011-12-31 with Social Science categories.

This is a personal history of the twentieth century as seen through the eyes of Edith Kurzweil, author, teacher, editor of Partisan Review, and a recent recipient of the National Medal of Humanities. The book opens with Kurzweil early adolescence in Vienna during the Nazi takeover. It ends with the author finding herself in the new century. In between, she kept moving on and interrogating the world around her. The reader follows Kurzweil on her perilous journey, at the age of fourteen, to Belgium, through France, Spain, and Portugal, alone with her younger brother. Her fantasies of reunion with her parents in New York kept her going but came to naught: she had not expected to fall from a wealthy childhood into the life of the working-class poor, as a millinery apprentice or a diamond cutter. Instead of entering college life, she eventually became a conventional American housewife. Unhappy and anxious, she anticipated the social changes in America, and returned to Europe with her second husband and her two children. She arrived at the beginning of the Italian miracle--its post-war revitalization. In Milan she met many Americans as an active member of its community and of the British-American club. After personal tragedy she returned to New York, and only then pursued her early intellectual ambitions. The author eventually became a professor of sociology and quickly climbed up the academic ladder. Just as she had been as a little girl, she still "wanted to know everything," beginning with her study of Italian entrepreneurs and going on to European history and French thought, to psychoanalysis and anti-Semitism. Her early writings prompted William Phillips, co-founder and editor of Partisan Review, to invite her into the elite circle of New York intellectuals. She worked alongside him, first as a reader, then as executive editor, and took over the editorship of the legendary journal during its final period. Kurzweil's journey was one of courage, and of emotional and intellectual growth. Full Circle will be of interest to intellectual and cultural historians, literary and Holocaust scholars, and American studies specialists.

As I began to put pen to paper, I had no idea how it would pan out. I’ve never written anything in my life, other than the odd Birthday and Christmas card. It is interesting, funny, sad, and a little bit different. It’s simply the story of me as a Boy, with a brilliant Mum, from a hard up working class family, growing up in the 1950’s, then making his way in life. Quite a bit of this book, is about my racing career, what I’ve tried, is write more about the Teams and other Drivers, rather than boring you with how good or bad I was, as I’m fully aware, that unless you are a Motor Racing fan, it would certainly do just that. What you read is what really happened, I just hope I will be able to paint a picture with my words. Hope you will find it a good read. Rick Shortle.

Do you believe a personal destiny exists for each of us? If it were possible to catch a glimpse of that destiny, would you have the courage, faith and strength of heart to follow it? What would be the cost, and what would have to be lain on the altar of sacrifice? FULL CIRCLE on the MOUNTAIN answers those questions with a powerful and insightful journey into one womans personal destiny. Claudette Elizabeth McAllister grew up a young woman, in rural South Carolina in the fifties, the daughter of a farmer and his bakery shop attendant wife. She was an ordinary girl, with ordinary dreams of going to college and pursuing a career in accounting. Destiny, however, used those dreams to choose another path for her. A presumed "chance meeting" with handsome, educated, and wealthy, Johnny Richardson would change her life and set her on a course with destiny which would not rest until she came full circle with it some twenty years later. In the early sixties, fate, in disguise as a life-threatening experience drives her back to her hometown. There she must face the reality of a son born out of wedlock, the tragic accident that killed her best friend and the realization that her life was somehow being orchestrated by forces beyond her control. Forces that continually required her to sacrifice and endure what seemed impossible for the human spirit. FULL CIRCLE on the MOUNTAIN is a journey along her path of people, places and events which would not only direct and shape her destiny, but weave its threads deeply into an entire family, unaware they too were a part of the great tapestry of this simple woman. " A rare and powerful combination of: entertainment, insight, wisdom and truth." Henri Forget, free-lance editor.

Coming Full Circle written by Ralph E. Gipson and has been published by Tate Publishing this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2011-03 with Biography & Autobiography categories.

Ralph Gipson knows what it means to come full circle. Born into a culture of hatred and disenfranchisement, Ralph's life took him to the depths of racism, sexism, agnosticism, drug abuse, violence, and sexual promiscuity. Coming Full Circle follows Ralph on his tumultuous quest to achieve a life of freedom and love. He discovers firsthand the falseness of the stereotypes he grew up believing when he joins the army, travels abroad, and sees a world without the racial divisions he knows back home. Ralph's views of himself and his race grow even more complex when his son and daughter are born. Despite his unhappy marriage, he refuses to leave his children and become just another stereotype. Determined to be a role model for his children, he chooses instead to be an outspoken writer and speaker on issues of parenthood in the black community. Eventually, Ralph hears the call to ministry and endures homelessness and poverty to enter the seminary. But even in the church, Ralph finds that many only see a person's color. Coming Full Circle is a call to action for all Americans, of all races, to realize the vision of the civil rights leaders of the 1950s and '60s and become the 'beloved community' Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. dreamed of.
