Quaternionic Closed Operators Fractional Powers And Fractional Diffusion Processes written by Fabrizio Colombo and has been published by Springer this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2019-07-10 with Mathematics categories.
This book presents a new theory for evolution operators and a new method for defining fractional powers of vector operators. This new approach allows to define new classes of fractional diffusion and evolution problems. These innovative methods and techniques, based on the concept of S-spectrum, can inspire researchers from various areas of operator theory and PDEs to explore new research directions in their fields. This monograph is the natural continuation of the book: Spectral Theory on the S-Spectrum for Quaternionic Operators by Fabrizio Colombo, Jonathan Gantner, and David P. Kimsey (Operator Theory: Advances and Applications, Vol. 270).

Functional Analysis Spectral Theory And Applications written by Manfred Einsiedler and has been published by Springer this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2017-11-21 with Mathematics categories.
This textbook provides a careful treatment of functional analysis and some of its applications in analysis, number theory, and ergodic theory. In addition to discussing core material in functional analysis, the authors cover more recent and advanced topics, including Weyl’s law for eigenfunctions of the Laplace operator, amenability and property (T), the measurable functional calculus, spectral theory for unbounded operators, and an account of Tao’s approach to the prime number theorem using Banach algebras. The book further contains numerous examples and exercises, making it suitable for both lecture courses and self-study. Functional Analysis, Spectral Theory, and Applications is aimed at postgraduate and advanced undergraduate students with some background in analysis and algebra, but will also appeal to everyone with an interest in seeing how functional analysis can be applied to other parts of mathematics.
Numerical Methods For Inverse Problems

Numerical Methods For Inverse Problems written by Michel Kern and has been published by John Wiley & Sons this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2016-03-31 with Mathematics categories.
This book studies methods to concretely address inverse problems. An inverse problem arises when the causes that produced a given effect must be determined or when one seeks to indirectly estimate the parameters of a physical system. The author uses practical examples to illustrate inverse problems in physical sciences. He presents the techniques and specific methods chosen to solve inverse problems in a general domain of application, choosing to focus on a small number of methods that can be used in most applications. This book is aimed at readers with a mathematical and scientific computing background. Despite this, it is a book with a practical perspective. The methods described are applicable, have been applied, and are often illustrated by numerical examples.

Linear Functional Analysis written by Hans Wilhelm Alt and has been published by Springer this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2016-07-06 with Mathematics categories.
This book gives an introduction to Linear Functional Analysis, which is a synthesis of algebra, topology, and analysis. In addition to the basic theory it explains operator theory, distributions, Sobolev spaces, and many other things. The text is self-contained and includes all proofs, as well as many exercises, most of them with solutions. Moreover, there are a number of appendices, for example on Lebesgue integration theory. A complete introduction to the subject, Linear Functional Analysis will be particularly useful to readers who want to quickly get to the key statements and who are interested in applications to differential equations.

Functional Assessment Of Wetlands written by E. Maltby and has been published by Elsevier this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2009-04-27 with Nature categories.
Wetlands perform functions that deliver benefits to society, often referred to as ecosystem services. These ecosystem services include water supply, flood regulation, water purification, climate regulation, biodiversity, agriculture (e.g. grazing land), and amenity. A functional approach to wetland assessment enables a holistic view to be taken of the wide range of services wetlands can provide. The functional assessment procedures (FAPs) in this volume translate best available scientific knowledge into reasonable predictions of how component parts of wetlands function in different landscape contexts. They can be used to indicate the potential and priorities for management options in such areas as flood control, pollution reduction and biodiversity conservation.Functional assessment enables the user to predict the functioning of a wetland area without the need for comprehensive and expensive empirical research The FAPs therefore provide a methodology that can be used by both experts and non-experts to assess wetland functioning relatively rapidly. The volume includes an electronic version of the FAPs on CD which automates aspects of the assessment once the initial recording stage is completed. It is anticipated that the FAPs will be used by a range of individuals or organisations concerned with wetland management who wish to gain a better understanding of the processes, functions, services or benefits and potential of the wetlands for which they have responsibility. - Provides a systematic methodology to evaluate how wetlands function - Allows non-experts to assess wetland functioning rapidly and cost-effectively - Automates aspects of the functional assessment through the accompanying CD-ROM

Functional Analysis written by Markus Haase and has been published by American Mathematical Society this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2014-09-17 with Mathematics categories.
This book introduces functional analysis at an elementary level without assuming any background in real analysis, for example on metric spaces or Lebesgue integration. It focuses on concepts and methods relevant in applied contexts such as variational methods on Hilbert spaces, Neumann series, eigenvalue expansions for compact self-adjoint operators, weak differentiation and Sobolev spaces on intervals, and model applications to differential and integral equations. Beyond that, the final chapters on the uniform boundedness theorem, the open mapping theorem and the Hahn-Banach theorem provide a stepping-stone to more advanced texts. The exposition is clear and rigorous, featuring full and detailed proofs. Many examples illustrate the new notions and results. Each chapter concludes with a large collection of exercises, some of which are referred to in the margin of the text, tailor-made in order to guide the student digesting the new material. Optional sections and chapters supplement the mandatory parts and allow for modular teaching spanning from basic to honors track level.

"Offers great suggestions on how to read and interpret important information for children with behavioral issues." —Ramona Marquez, Director of Special Education Hatch Valley Public Schools, Hatch, NM Because every behavior has a reason behind it... Functional Behavioral Assessment (FBA) is a highly effective, student-centered approach to improving challenging behavior. The method helps educators figure out why students act the way they do and then make the appropriate environmental or instructional adjustments. Ideal for general and special educators new to FBAs, this concise, accessible guidebook offers a practical overview of how to use classroom and behavioral assessment data to make the learning environment enjoyable for all—including the teacher. Readers will learn how to: Identify and understand the underlying factors of challenging behavior Observe, collect, and analyze classroom data Adopt evidence-based intervention strategies to correct problem behavior Prepare a proactive plan for serious disruptions Blending light-hearted humor with personal experiences and case studies, the author provides concrete methods for positive, effective behavioral intervention.

"This book presents a comprehensive system for designing, implementing, and evaluating functional assessment-based interventions (FABI) based on a body of research developed since the early 2000s. In this book, it is illustrated how to conduct a FABI as a Tier 3 intervention for students with intensive intervention needs within integrated tiered systems of support, particularly the comprehensive, integrated, three-tiered (Ci3T) model of prevention. It also features illustrations of how FABIs can be used beyond Ci3T systems, for instance, in schools and preschool centers not yet implementing integrated tiered systems of support, residential facilities, and home settings"--
