Welchen Teil kann die Schule oder KiTa dazu beitragen, die Gewalt in der Schule und letztendlich auch in der Gesellschaft zu minimieren? Für diese Arbeit stelle ich folgende These: Könnte die Stärkung der emotionalen Persönlichkeit (emotionales Verständnis, emotionale Regulierung) beziehungsweise die Förderung der emotionalen oder sozialen Kompetenzen die Gewaltprävention in Schulen positiv beeinflussen? Um dieser Frage auf den Grund zu gehen, wird in dieser Arbeit der "Emotional literacy" Ansatz erläutert. Dafür wird erst die Gewalt in (Grund-) Schulen betrachtet und zwischen Aggression und Gewalt differenziert, um ein genaueres Bild der Gewalt in Schulen zu bekommen. In der Betrachtung der emotionalen Persönlichkeitsentwicklung werden die Grundlagen von Emotionen erarbeitet und anschießend wird ein Projekt von Petermann et al., "Emotionstraining in der Schule", vorgestellt.
