The theory of the Earth's climate evolution based on universal chemical-physical laws of matter-energy transformation is presented in the book. It shows how the process of Earth's core separation has led to formation and evolution of the hydrosphere and atmosphere. Having analyzed the processes of heat transfer in the atmosphere, the writers developed the adiabatic theory of the greenhouse effect, which was applied for analysis of climatic changes on the Earth. The influence of changes in climate on formation of mineral deposits and development of life on Earth was considered and presented based on modeling of typical climatic regimes. It shows that the anthropogenic effect on the Earth's global temperature is negligible in comparison with the effect of global forces of nature. * Presents the theory of Earth's evolution based on the laws of chemical-density differentiation of the origin of the Earth * Discusses the adiabatic theory of the greenhouse effect with quantitative estimates of the natural and anthropogenic influences on Earth's climates * Describes the quantitative description of the evolution of the Earth's climate throughout geologic history and prediction of the future of the Earth's climate * Investigates the global forces of nature driving the Earth's climate

***Updated and Revised 2019*** Author Richard S. Dillon tackles the divisive subject of global warming in his new book, Scientific Facts and Climate Change. Readers will gain a better understanding of key climate change concepts-like what scientists mean when they discuss the "greenhouse effect" and how to differentiate between "good" and "bad" science- in easy-to-read terms. Dillon tackles a broad range of concepts, exploring why carbon dioxide is not an "effective" greenhouse gas, how the way in which the solubility of carbon dioxide may explain the relationship between it and water temperature, and how carbon dioxide absorbs infrared radiation by bending and stretching the oxygen-carbon bonds. Dillon also dissects the various reports of global weather-related disasters, including recent worldwide hurricanes, floods, and droughts, to determine their root causes and better focus climate debate. No factor is too big or small to be considered in Scientific Facts and Climate Change. Looking outward and upward, Dillon even examines the effect of the sun and cosmos on the global climate, drawing a correlation between the number of sunspots and major weather patterns seen in the past. Ready to reconsider the world around you? This eye-opening look at climate change is a great place to start.

We are at the terminal point of the warm interglacial period, and the next glacial age may anytime start. The first step of the global cooling is predicted by the author to come in 2035, when the food production will surely decrease. The population is expanding and the shortage of food and drain of natural resources result in the limits to the growth of the human society. It was predicted by the Rome Club (1972) that The Limits to Growth would come in 2020. All these conditions together corroborate to bring a severe crisis to human beings in near future. If the earth would be meeting warming in near future as predicted by IPCC, then the crisis would be mild. However, it is not the case. The atmospheric temperature of the earth will surely become cold, because most of major controlling factors of the atmospheric temperature, i.e., solar activity, cosmic rays, and geomagnetism are changing in a way to the cooling. The effect of carbon dioxide gas only cannot be too much evaluated. The effort of decreasing carbon dioxide gas is important in the sustainability of our limited resources, however, we have to seriously consider the measures for the approaching crisis of global cooling and the limits to growth.

Climate change is a slowly advancing crisis sweeping over the planet and affecting different habitats in strikingly diverse ways. While nations have signed treaties and implemented policies, most actual climate change assessments, adaptations, and countermeasures take place at the local level. People are responding by adjusting their practices, livelihoods, and cultures, protesting and migrating. This book portrays the diversity of explanations and remedies as expressed at the community level and its emphasis on the crucial importance of ethnographic detail in demonstrating how people in different parts of the world are scaling down the phenomenon of global warming.
