How do we love people we don't agree with? How do we care for and show respect to those who aren't like us? As we open our Bible and begin to read the very first chapter of Genesis, we discover all men and women are created equal in God's image. We are endowed with the same rights, afforded the same dignity, and designed with the same virtues by an all-powerful Maker. This thread of equality runs throughout the entirety of God's word and as Christians, we are continuously commanded to demonstrate those same values to others. We need to equip ourselves with the knowledge of God's word in order to combat the false teaching of racism, sexism, gender inequality, age discrimination, and other forms of bias that denies the rights God Himself has given to all humans. This devotional and journal is designed to be a thought-provoking and challenging study into what God's word has to say about such topics. It also challenges us, as a family, to have conversations about these subjects with our kids and talk about our responsibility as Christians relating to these topics. When Christ came, died on the cross, and the veil was opened to the throne of God, did Christ then silence half of His body or empower them to be disciples and take the gospel to the world? Was mutual submission the work of the Cross? This study gives only a few examples from God's Divine Word of His completed work.

How Does God Really Feel About Females written by Joanne White Ferdinando and has been published by WestBow Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2019-02-21 with Religion categories.

In the very beginning, God made the male and female equal in gender and power, so how did the female become secondary to the male? This book comprehensively reviews the initial gender equality of the sexes, how it was lost, and why it should be reclaimed. Accurate translation evidence is provided for words like desire, rule, head, and submission—words that have unnecessarily held back all females, especially Christian females, for thousands of years. Clear analysis of male/female brain functions, biblical languages, patriarchy, ancient law codes, complementarianism, slavery, rape, marriage, and verses like Genesis 3:16 and 1 Tim. 2:12 should satisfy most skeptics that it was never God’s intention for the female to be second to the male on a human totem pole. They were made to stand together on the same rung of creation’s hierarchical ladder and to freely use all of their talents and abilities. Females are now, and always have been, equally loved in the sight of God and needed in the Church and world.

Women In God S Army written by Andrew Mark Eason and has been published by Wilfrid Laurier Univ. Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2009-10-22 with Religion categories.

The early Salvation Army professed its commitment to sexual equality in ministry and leadership. In fact, its founding constitution proclaimed women had the right to preach and hold any office in the organization. But did they? Women in God’s Army is the first study of its kind devoted to the critical analysis of this central claim. It traces the extent to which this egalitarian ideal was realized in the private and public lives of first- and second-generation female Salvationists in Britain and argues that the Salvation Army was found wanting in its overall commitment to women’s equality with men. Bold pronouncements were not matched by actual practice in the home or in public ministry. Andrew Mark Eason traces the nature of these discrepancies, as well as the Victorian and evangelical factors that lay behind them. He demonstrates how Salvationists often assigned roles and responsibilities on the basis of gender rather than equality, and the ways in which these discriminatory practices were supported by a male-defined theology and authority. He views this story from a number of angles, including historical, gender and feminist theology, ensuring it will be of interest to a wide spectrum of readers. Salvationists themselves will appreciate the light it sheds on recent debates. Ultimately, however, anyone who wants to learn more about the human struggle for equality will find this book enlightening.

What Paul Really Said About Women written by John Temple Bristow and has been published by Harper Collins this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2011-07-12 with Religion categories.

John Temple Bristow’s What Paul Really Said About Women challenges the traditional understanding of St. Paul's epistles and sexism in the modern church. Attempting to reconcile the Apostle Paul’s scripture about women being submissive to men in Ephesians 5 with his words in Galatians 3 that there is no male or female and everyone is “one in Christ Jesus”, John Temple Bristow uncovered differences between Paul’s original Greek Ephesians writings and the English version translation that indicates a deliberate alteration of the text’s meaning in favor of men. Provocative and revelatory, Bristow’s book explores not only What Paul Really Said About Women, but the history and culture of the church that misinterpreted his message. “A convincing case for equality of the sexes based on the very passages that are all too often used as proof texts to uphold male dominance and female subordination. . . . For any person who reveres scripture but who struggles with traditional interpretations of passages concerning women and who fears that a desire for equality between the sexes is a violation of biblical principles, this book is a must.” —Letha Dawson Scanzoni, co-author of All We’re Meant to Be “Bristow acquits Paul of misogyny and restores him to his rightful stature as a great architect of human liberation. Even more importantly, Bristow urges contemporary churches . . . to follow the radically egalitarian vision of the apostle Paul.” —Virginia Ramey Mollenkott, author of Women, Men, and the Bible “Cuts through much misguided rhetoric to display the actual enhancement of women’s status in early Christian culture.” —Timothy L. Smith, author of Called Unto Holiness
