Is Homosexuality a Sin? What is the big deal about anyway? Live and let live! Isn't love good in any form or fashion? Isn't love what God is all about, is, and what the world needs?! In his book "God loves Gays BUT hates Homosexuality" Dr. Tim Henderson shares from a biblical perspective and answers this highly charged question. Dr. Tim Henderson, affectionately known as Pastor Tim to those closest to him, is a man who has experienced great love and mercy and has demonstrated the same in his personal life adopting three of his seven children and most of his pets including seven dogs. Dr. Tim was a bi-vocational Pastor for approximately 27 years and is now in full-time ministry as a lead Pastor in Central, IL. Dr. Tim does not endorse treating anyone, regardless of their gender, race, sexual orientation, life choices and belief system with anything less than common courtesy, dignity and mutual respect. Dr. Tim plans to utilize some of the proceeds from this book to help establish a House of Blessing that will provide temporary and emergency shelter for those in need, a fully stocked food pantry and counseling center. This center will not discriminate against anyone in need. All community members will be eligible for assistance without prejudice and without regard or discrimination based on age, race, religion, color, gender, disability, national origin, ancestry, marital status, sexual orientation or veteran status. The truth is homosexuality has existed since biblical times and has been a highly charged social and now political issue. This book takes a look at homosexuality from a biblical perspective and considers societal perspective on the LGBT community and whether a person is born gay or turns gay. Does genetics or environment cause a person to be homosexual and what implications would that have on this highly charged issue? If a person is born gay how could anyone, including God, hold that against them? Why does it matter who someone loves as long as

God And The Gay Christian written by Matthew Vines and has been published by Convergent Books this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2014-04-22 with Religion categories.

“God and the Gay Christian is a game changer. Winsome, accessible, and carefully researched, every page is brought to life by the author’s clear love for Scripture and deep, persistent faith. With this book, Matthew Vines emerges as one of my generation’s most important Christian leaders, not only on matters of sexuality but also on what it means to follow Jesus with wisdom, humility, and grace. Prepare to be challenged and enlightened, provoked and inspired. Read with an open heart and mind, and you are bound to be changed.” — Rachel Held Evans, author of A Year of Biblical Womanhood and Faith Unraveled As a young Christian man, Matthew Vines harbored the same basic hopes of most young people: to someday share his life with someone, to build a family of his own, to give and receive love. But when he realized he was gay, those hopes were called into question. The Bible, he’d been taught, condemned gay relationships. Feeling the tension between his understanding of the Bible and the reality of his same-sex orientation, Vines devoted years of intensive research into what the Bible says about homosexuality. With care and precision, Vines asked questions such as: • Do biblical teachings on the marriage covenant preclude same-sex marriage or not? • How should we apply the teachings of Jesus to the gay debate? • What does the story of Sodom and Gomorrah really say about human relationships? • Can celibacy be a calling when it is mandated, not chosen? • What did Paul have in mind when he warned against same-sex relations? Unique in its affirmation of both an orthodox faith and sexual diversity, God and the Gay Christian is likely to spark heated debate, sincere soul searching, even widespread cultural change. Not only is it a compelling interpretation of key biblical texts about same-sex relations, it is also the story of a young man navigating relationships with his family, his hometown church, and the Christian church at large as he expresses what it means to be a faithful gay Christian.

God loves (period). In fact, God doesn't just love - 'God is love' - It doesn't matter who we are or what we've done, God loves us. And He doesn't expect us to be perfect before we come to Him, or after for that matter. God gave my wife and I two gay sons and we are committed Christians. We love them unconditionally and so does God. That set me on a search of the Bible. Because it seemed important to my younger son that I should attend Gay Pride in Liverpool, I agreed to do so. I was overwhelmed by the reception I received as I held my 'God Loves Gays' sign. Apparently some religious people had been holding up a 'God hates Faggots' sign nearer the start of the procession. Hopefully this book will strike at those who judge others and who, by their very actions, condemn themselves. I want everyone to know that they are loved by God. He couldn't love them more than He does at this precise moment. Jesus came to show us that God loves us just as we are. He gave His life on the cross to display the full extent of that love. He tells us Himself that He did not come into the world to condemn people. God wants each one of us to run to Him, like the prodigal stinking of pigs, dirty and full of sin. No strings attached and if we do then he will kill the fattened calf, arrange the karaoke and even get some angels in on the jamboree. Sadly in the background will be religious people who can't stand fun but prefer to 'tut' - One of the chapters is headed 'God Invented Sex' - Too many seem to think that God doesn't like sex. He told the first couple, "Be fruitful and multiply!" And there's only one way to do that. Hopefully the book is fun. I sensed a twinkle in God's eye as I stood at Gay Pride and a chuckle as I set to writing this book. I hope you enjoy it and that it will cause you to run towards your loving creator with arms open wide just like his are towards you. I believe that the Bible is God breathed and that God is still breathing His life through His word. I believe that the Scriptures are 100% inspired. But I also believe that there is a progression - According to God's written law the woman caught in the act of adultery ought to have been stoned to death but Jesus rode roughshod over His Father's law and in certain other places it is clear that God changed His mind. Read on with a mind open to hear His voice. Inviting God into your life is to open yourself to the real fun. The devil is the kill-joy. God loves you massively and He couldn't love you one iota more than He does right now. I didn't know what to expect as I began writing this book but I found that He is aching to be loved by His creation. - Every single penny, dime, cent which I receive from each one of my books goes to Teenage Cancer Trust.

Sometimes, grace gets messy. Caleb Kaltenbach was raised by LGBT parents, marched in gay pride parades as a youngster, and experienced firsthand the hatred and bitterness of some Christians toward his family. But then Caleb surprised everyone, including himself, by becoming a Christian…and a pastor. Very few issues in Christianity are as divisive as the acceptance of the LGBT community in the church. As a pastor and as a person with beloved family members living a gay lifestyle, Caleb had to face this issue with courage and grace. Messy Grace shows us that Jesus’s command to “love your neighbor as yourself” doesn’t have an exception clause for a gay “neighbor”—or for that matter, any other “neighbor” we might find it hard to relate to. Jesus was able to love these people and yet still hold on to his beliefs. So can you. Even when it’s messy. “Messy Grace is an important contribution to the conversation about sexual identity for churches and leaders. Caleb's story is surprising and unique, and he weaves it together compellingly. He states his views clearly, leaves room for disagreement, and champions love no matter where you are in this conversation.” —Jud Wilhite, Sr. Pastor, Central Christian Church

What does God say about homosexuality? How does this differ from what society says? Is homosexuality wrong? Does God hate gays? Rarely will you encounter a book which speaks both of the love of God and homosexuality. Homosexuality usually elicits blasts of judgment from the religious community, and not love. The Gaying of America and the Love of God reconciles these three seemingly opposing topics explaining how God views the behaviors of His most precious creation, humanity. Jesus' response when confronted with sexual misgivings is telling of what the religious community's attitude should be on this exploding topic. An examination of Abraham also reveals a surprising reaction from the patriarch of three of the world's largest religions. What influence will gay marriage have on the fate of the United States of America? This book brings God's perspective to this conversation, in an attempt to bring all communities together, including those in the LGBT community. A truly prophetic call to the church and to the modern world.

We Love You, But You’re Going to Hell presents a non-confrontational study of the conflict surrounding Christian faith, Scriptures, and homosexuality. It addresses the dichotomy of love and condemnation, sincerely expressed by Christians – and the pain experienced by gays and lesbians. • How do sincere, Bible-believing Christians balance their interpretation of Scriptures with everyday encounters with gays and lesbians? • How do we have conversations when we disagree? Without judging or calling into question someone’s faith or salvation? This book OPENS UP the conversation – with chapters devoted to the Author’s Story, Scriptures, Stereotypes, Marriage, Religious Freedom, Why It Matters, and What We Can Do in our families, churches, and society. It is easy to single-handedly dismiss an individual or church’s belief or stance by writing them off as conservative or liberal. No matter which side you are on, there is benefit to educating yourself on the beliefs and experiences of those with whom you disagree. The author asks that the reader consider viewpoints expressed by a variety of churches and ministers. Look closely at the Scriptures that are cited and decide for yourself. Look at the beliefs of well-known conservative ministers and doctrines of several church denominations in this book. Some Christians believe it is loving to demand denial of homosexuality, ending relationships, changing to heterosexuality, or remaining celibate – in order that the soul be saved. Others believe sexual orientation is God-given, cannot be changed and that it is cruel and unloving to demand it. If you believe homosexuality is a sin, the Scriptures condemn, sexual orientation doesn’t exist; read this book. Argue with it, confirm your beliefs, question, change your mind. The author invites your engagement. Kim O’Reilly cares deeply about the divisions she sees in churches today over homosexuality. How do we get beyond the disagreements, divisiveness, and polarization we see playing out in our churches and society? How do we honor the rights of each of these groups without denying the rights of the other? She attempts to answer these questions throughout her book. Love and/or Condemnation? “God doesn’t make mistakes. Humans do. God doesn’t make one gay. They make that choice on their own. It’s a fact that homosexuality is a choice. It has a cause – Satan.” “I was nine years old when I recognized my attractions for the same gender. Praying to God every night and pleading with Him to take my feeling away didn’t work. Practically living, eating, and breathing the Bible didn’t work. I tried repressing and denying who I was – but nothing changed inside of me. I was taught by my pastors, parents, and peers to hate myself – and that worked.” What does the Bible say about how we should treat those we disagree with or who we believe are going to Hell? The final chapter offers strategies and solutions on how to bridge the divide between Christians and gays – how to promote healing and not to inflict more pain.

Love Your Gay Neighbor tells the story of God, finds a reliable definition of love, shows how people in the Bible demonstrate that love, and equips you to love your gay neighbors. You will find answers to such questions as these: What happened to God? What caused Him to punish and destroy homosexuals in earlier times? Why does He write such things in his Book-what things happened that resulted in Him feeling the way He does about homosexual behavior? If God hates sin so much, why is He so patient with sinners? Is He a God of wrath or of love?-and how does this relate to homosexuality? From this book you will learn to love as God loves by understanding and sharing His views.Do not be fooled by my simple words and short sentences. "Theology" is the study of God, and telling the story of God is deeply theological. In this book you will discover things not taught in seminary, yet I deliberately write in plain English at the eighth grade reading level. This is true of both the theological and cultural vocabulary. The gay world has many words to describe its various sexual preferences. To avoid confusion and to make the language simple, this book uses only two words: homosexual and gay-both used in a gender-neutral way.HomosexualI use the word "homosexual" for a person who experiences sexual attraction for someone of the same sex. Such an attraction fits the category of temptation. Temptation is not sin. Temptation that is acted upon is sin. Many followers of Jesus endure tremendous same-sex attraction but never act on that temptation. They practice celibacy just as Jesus did. They do not define their lives by their sexual orientation but rather transcend this temptation the same way the alcoholic does who stands up at the AA meeting and says, "Hi. My name is [insert name here], I am an alcoholic, and no alcohol has passed my lips in 37 years...."I am not sure why such persons continue to identify themselves by either their beverage or their sexual preferences, but since they do, I respect and use their vocabulary.GayI use the word "gay" for a person who practices homosexual behavior whether in defiance or ignorance regarding the Bible's clear teaching against this sin. Some of these individuals are militant and vocal advocates of the homosexual cultural revolution that includes gay marriage. Many others quietly ignore the publicity and merely indulge their desires in private.Book I of this collection, The Big Picture, explains why both homosexuals and gays desperately need you to show them accurately the love that is of God. Book II, The Love Picture, gives many examples from the Bible of people who genuinely loved homosexual and gay neighbors. Book III, The Gay Picture, summarizes recent events making this book necessary while providing final instructions on how to love, and what the result of your loving is likely to be.CONTENTSIntroduction: The Hair DresserBook I: The Big Picture1. There are many commendable books on the Bible and homosexuality which span anywhere from a hundred to several hundred pages in length. For the curious, such books can sometimes be inaccessible or more than they really want to read. "The Bible, Christianity, & Homosexuality" is a concise yet profound analysis of the Bible verses often misused to condemn gay and lesbian Christians. This study was written to be accessible to all, indeed, something family members and friends of gay and lesbian Christians might actually take the time to read. The Los Angeles Times describes this work as "an illuminating...analysis that argues the Bible doesn't condemn faithful gay relationships." (McGough, 7/18/05).

Honest, faithful people are wondering if the Bible is really telling them to hate gay people. This book is a reasoned response to that inquiry. It deals with the Scriptures most often cited to justify homophobia and provides a more loving interpretation. Six lesbians tell their story and how the Church has impacted their lives. Families and clergy are given clear guidelines on how to offer support and kindness to this marginalized and maligned group of women. This is an important book for our time. Homophobia, cruelty, and denial of human dignity to all gay people at home and globally have re-emerged, much of it fueled by false and malicious biblical interpretation.
