Textverstehen ist ein grundlegender Teil der menschlichen Sprachverarbeitung und beinhaltet einen kognitiven und einen kommunikativen Aspekt. Dabei wird bei den Lernenden Deutsch als L1 (Muttersprache) und Spanisch als L2 (Zielsprache) angenommen. Die Strategien bzw. konkreten Übungen, die hier betrachtet werden sollen, können sowohl im fachdidaktischen Zusammenhang als auch für ein individuelles Training hilfreich sein. Im Folgenden werden zunächst die physiologischen Grundlagen der Sprachverarbeitung und der Wissensorganisation im menschlichen Gehirn beschrieben, um mögliche Wirkungsweisen kognitiver Lernstrategien verstehen zu können. Anschließend werden drei Spanischlehrwerke für Anfänger in Teilen auf verwendete Strategien zur Wortschatzerweiterung untersucht, welche dann auf ihre Funktionsweise und Effizienz hin betrachtet und bewertet werden sollen. Am Ende stehen ergänzende Ideen und Anregungen, wie die Erweiterung des Wortschatzes in der L2 über bestimmte Lernstrategien erleichtert werden könnte. Die verwendete Literatur gehört überwiegend dem Bereich der Sprachdidaktik an und dringt meist nicht in die Kognitionswissenschaft ein. Ziel dieser Arbeit ist es somit, praxisbezogene didaktisch-methodische Ansätze mit den theoretischen Grundlagen der Kognitiven Linguistik zu verbinden.
