Inhaltsangabe:Einleitung: Das Internet verändert die Welt. Nicht nur der Handel oder produzierende Unternehmen sind davon betroffen; mit der steigenden Tendenz zu Verkäufen und Geschäftsabwicklungen über das Internet zunehmend auch die Logistikdienstleister. Dabei sind die Auswirkungen des E-Commerce auf die Logistikdienstleister besonders in zwei Sektoren spürbar: im Handel zwischen Unternehmen (Business-to-Business, B2B) und im Handel von Unternehmen mit Endkunden (Business-to-Consumer, B2C). Die prognostizierten Wachstumsraten im B2B Bereich sind deutlich höher als die im B2C Bereich. Doch auch das B2C Geschäft gewinnt an wirtschaftlicher Bedeutung. Und dieses stellt die Logistikdienstleister, im Besonderen die KEP-Dienste (Kurier, Express, Paket-Dienste) vor neue Anforderungen. Mehr Einzelzustellungen bei insgesamt höherem Sendungsvolumen, zweite und dritte Zustellversuche und zeitaufwendiges Inkasso beim Empfänger lassen besonders die Kosten der so genannten letzten Meile explodieren. Und so suchen die Dienstleister nun nach geeigneten Zustellkonzepten, um diese Kosten in den Griff zu bekommen und gleichzeitig den neuen Anforderungen gerecht zu werden. Doch wie sehen ideale Logistiksysteme aus? Welche Konzepte gibt es schon, welche werden gerade entwickelt? Wie leistungsfähig sind diese Konzepte? Werden sie vom Kunden akzeptiert? Erfüllen diese Konzepte die neuen Anforderungen, die E-Commerce an Logistikdienstleistungen stellt und werden sie auch zukunftsfähig sein? Diese Fragen und Antworten darauf sind Gegenstand der Arbeit. Gang der Untersuchung: Die Arbeit ist in acht Abschnitte gegliedert. Einer kurzen Darstellung des Themas folgt in Abschnitt 2 die Beschreibung der wichtigsten terminologischen Grundlagen. Die Ausgangslage wird in den Abschnitten 3, 4 und 5 beschrieben. Dabei wird zunächst auf das Phänomen E-Commerce eingegangen und dessen Einfluss auf Logistiksysteme untersucht. Es wird analysiert wie E-Commerce logistische Prozesse verändert und welche neuen Anforderungen an Logistikdienstleister daraus entstehen. In Abschnitt 4 wird auf die besondere Rolle der KEP-Dienste im E-Commerce eingegangen. Dabei wird zunächst die Entwicklung des KEP-Marktes im Ganzen beleuchtet und darauf aufbauend dann der Einfluss des E-Commerce auf den KEP-Markt untersucht. Im Rahmen der Arbeit konnten die Einhaltung der Kühlkette sowie die sogenannte „letzte Meile“ als Problemfelder des Lebensmittelonlinehandels identifiziert werden. Diese gilt es durch verschiedene Ansätze zu bewältigen. Zu Beginn der Arbeit werden die theoretischen Grundlagen der Handelslogistik und des E-Commerce in Bezug auf Lebensmittel dargestellt. Dabei werden die relevanten Begriffe erläutert. Als nächster Schritt wird mit den Aufgaben der Handelslogistik eine Struktur geschaffen, denen die Optimierungsansätze später zugeordnet werden. Im Rahmen der Literaturanalyse konnten 31 Ansätze zur Optimierung der verschiedenen Aufgaben identifiziert werden. Diese werden dargestellt und am Ende kritisch bewertet. Die Arbeit endet mit einer Zusammenfassung und einem Ausblick.

Retail shelf management means cost-efficiently aligning retail operations with consumer demand. As consumers expect high product availability and low prices, and retailers are constantly increasing product variety and striving towards high service levels, the complexity of managing retail business and its operations is growing enormously. Retailers need to match consumer demand with shelf supply by balancing variety (number of products) and service levels (number of items of a product), and by optimizing demand and profit through carefully calibrated prices. As a result the core strategic decisions a retailer must make involve assortment sizes, shelf space assignment and pricing levels. Rigorous quantitative methods have emerged as the most promising solution to this problem.
