Imagine a life where your toddler or preschooler is happy to do what you ask, and is able to move on, easily, when disappointed. • Imagine getting all of your housework done while your child plays, or happily helps alongside you. • Imagine truly enjoying your time with your child, and creating a life that feels fulfilling for both of you. “These things are possible for parents and children,” asserts author Faith Collins, even with a child who is extra sensitive, demanding, needy, belligerent, or all at the same time. Collins is a preschooler teacher, parent coach and mother, who has witnessed such transformations repeatedly over many years. Her book is a treasury that provides readers with powerful, practical and positive tools to achieve harmony and joy in their own families. Her blog and popular online classes are available at (http://joyfultoddlers.com). The unique contribution of this book is its focus on creating a mutually responsive relationship—meaning that both people respond quickly and positively to each other, even when they cannot do what the other person wants. In a warm and easygoing style, the author guides parents and caregivers in establishing and maintaining such mutually responsive relationships with their young ones, creating the basis for discipline, education, socialization and a happier life together. Helping our children to develop these skills becomes a game-changer in all parent-child dynamics. Rare and precious! Faith’s book will very likely leave you feeling, “Yes, I can do this.” —Kim John Payne, author: Simplicity Parenting. A BOOK FOR PARENTS, GRANDPARENTS, EDUCATORS, CAREGIVERS, AND ALL INVESTED IN THE LOVE AND GUIDANCE OF CHILDREN. A MUST FOR PUBLIC, SCHOOL AND UNIVERSITY LIBRARIES.

A groundbreaking new theory of the real rules of politics: leaders do whatever keeps them in power, regardless of the national interest. As featured on the viral video Rules for Rulers, which has been viewed over 3 million times. Bruce Bueno de Mesquita and Alastair Smith's canonical book on political science turned conventional wisdom on its head. They started from a single assertion: Leaders do whatever keeps them in power. They don't care about the "national interest"-or even their subjects-unless they have to. This clever and accessible book shows that democracy is essentially just a convenient fiction. Governments do not differ in kind but only in the number of essential supporters, or backs that need scratching. The size of this group determines almost everything about politics: what leaders can get away with, and the quality of life or misery under them. The picture the authors paint is not pretty. But it just may be the truth, which is a good starting point for anyone seeking to improve human governance.

20 Dictators Currently Supported By The U S written by David Swanson and has been published by David Swanson this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2020 with Political Science categories.

The U.S. government has a habit of supporting brutal (and comically outrageous) dictators. This book offers 20 current examples, together with some background on historical patterns, some explanation for why this happens, and a proposal to put an end to it. As documented here, the U.S. government arms, trains, and funds all variety of oppressive governments, not just dictatorships. The choice to focus on dictatorships in this book was not made merely to shorten the list. Rather, that choice was made because the U.S. government so often claims to be opposing dictators through the promotion of democracy. Frequently, the atrocious conduct of a dictator is a central selling point for a new war or coup or program of sanctions. Yet neither Saddam Hussein's horrific (though fictional) removal of babies from incubators nor Manuel Noriega's cavorting in red underwear with prostitutes while snorting cocaine and praying to voodoo gods (as the New York Times solemnly informed us on December 26, 1989) rivals the moral horror or the glorious goofiness of the 20 tyrants described in this book. No one will be able to read this and believe that a primary purpose of U.S. foreign policy is to oppose dictatorships or to promote democracy. If it is important to you to try to believe that, you've probably already stopped reading.

In this riveting anatomy of the new face of authoritarianism, acclaimed journalist William Dobson takes us inside the battle between modern dictators and those who challenge their rule. From Tahrir Square to the Kremlin, we have witnessed an incredible moment in the war between dictators and democracy. The problem is that today's authoritarians are not like the frozen-in-time, ready-to-crack regime of North Korea. They are ever-morphing, technologically savvy, and have replaced more brutal forms of intimidation with subtle coercion. But as dictators have become more nimble, so have the inspiring people who oppose their rule. The Dictator's Learning Curve explains this historic moment and offers hope for the future of freedom. Foundations Of Comparative Politics written by William Roberts Clark and has been published by CQ Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2018-09-18 with Political Science categories.

Adapted from the groundbreaking bestseller, Principles of Comparative Politics, Third Edition! Foundations of Comparative Politics presents a scientific approach to the rich world of comparative inquiry, research, and scholarship, providing students a guide to cross-national comparison and why it matters to them. This condensed, more accessible format introduces students to the key questions in comparative politics, using brief insights from tools such as decision, social choice, and game theory to help them understand clearly why some explanations for political phenomena are stronger than others. Foundations concentrates on describing the core features of regimes and institutions and on analyzing how these fundamental attributes drive variation in the economic and political outcomes we care about most. This approach more closely replicates what comparative scholars do: constructing and testing theories on political phenomena over basic memorization of country-specific facts—to explain, rather than describe. Illustrated with current examples that show the application of theory, students gain invaluable real-world skills in critical thinking and empirical analysis that they will carry with them long after the course is over. Give your students the SAGE edge! SAGE edge offers a robust online environment featuring an impressive array of free tools and resources for review, study, and further exploration, keeping both instructors and students on the cutting edge of teaching and learning.

The book at hand is a provisional ‘work in progress’—commentaries and observations really—about a brutal phenomenon that is possibly among the last taboos to speak of in publishing: how a certain group of men and women of letters calling themselves ‘journalists’ serve not as bringers of news but as the foot soldiers in a Western war of subversion and regime change against China. Some of their militant tactics, their methodology, their unscrupulousness (shamelessness) shall be exemplified and immortalized in here.
