I have been asked as to where I draw my inspiration in accomplishing the Herculean jobs of being and staying as a researcher and as research manager- and the easiest way I can answer this is to draw on my own experience as a teacher. For me, being a researcher is something that has evolved from my innate passion to discover new knowledge. This responsibility is likewise unexpected, since it has not occurred to me that my hunger for knowledge may be something that I can concretely contribute to the research development of the institution. I have been able to reflect on the experiences I have acquired throughout the years I have spent in school as a researcher, research leader, and research manager, and these are the bases for the lessons that I have to offer in this guidebook.
