Do you look at good golfers and wish you had their natural ability? We are all programmed for natural ability and movement Our bodies are programmed to instinctively perform athletic movements with balance and co-ordination, like walking, riding a bicycle, roller skating, swimming, and many more. So you do have the natural ability for a good golf swing, and to play good golf. Learn how to build your best golf swing using the natural ability that you are programmed with! Without any awareness of how the body and mind work for you, many people never learn to feel the natural movement and allow the body to develop it’s own natural swing style. Without understanding this and allowing it to happen, you may never reach your potential and will always struggle for consistency. Most elite players on tour started swinging a golf club when they were small children, their mind and body naturally developed this ability without them being aware they were doing so. Children at a young age have little awareness of conscious focus when learning or performing a physical movement, as they are usually only focused on the result of what they are trying to do, in the case of golf, this is hitting the ball. There is a lot that the average golfer can learn from this! Many average golfers learn to try and use the swing technique that great players have written about over the years, and a lot of what can be found on instructional videos online or taught by swing coaches, is based on the techniques of these great players. What many people don’t take into consideration when trying to learn from the teachings of great players, like Hogan and Nicklaus, is that their swing technique developed over time as a result of specific tendencies with their ball striking and shot shape. For example, in his early career, Ben Hogan struggled with a strong hook as the main shot miss in his game. Many regard Hogan as the greatest ball striker of all time, but he developed his famous swing style and technique over the years as he worked hard to get the hook misses out of his game. Learn to understand you own technique and style Once you learn how to allow your mind and body perform your own natural swing, you will find it much easier to work on the specific techniques taught by great players or your coach, as you will have a greater connection to your subconscious and a feel for the swing and your body movements. The more you can allow your conscious mind to stay out of the way, and allow your subconscious to take control, the quicker you can improve and the more consistent you will play. This book covers my story, what I learnt in my journey to better golf, and the puts together in one place all the information to help you do the same and find your natural golf swing.

Playing better golf without practicing, isn't that every golfers dream? Does that sound too good to be true? It is not! What people fail to realize is that golf is played as much with the mind as it is with the body. Having more fun and being better at playing golf, in large part, requires an improvement in how a person uses thier brain and chooses to think while playing golf. Unfortunately golfers have, for the most part, ignored use of their brain as a way to improve their games and to increase their enjoyment of golf. For most golfers, improvement means purchasing the latest, greatest golf club or trying out a tip they read in a golf magazine or watched on television. Despite using technologically advanced golf clubs and balls and improving their swing technique, many golfers do not seem to be lowering their scores. The concepts explained in this book are simple, extremely effective, easy to apply, and are the same ones that the best players in the world are using. Professional golfers have come to realize that at the PGA Tour level everyone has terrific physical skills. The difference between the players and the good players are the mental skills. Most golfers do not have the physical talent to be able to hit the ball like Tiger Woods or Annika Sorenstam, but everyone, absolutely, positively has the mental capacity to learn how to think like them! Every golfer can benefit by learning more about how to think properly while playing golf. I believe that golfers have a huge untapped potential that is just waiting to be unlocked. Apply the simply, common sense techniques explained in this book and you too can have more fun and play better golf!

“The Pro Tour’s hottest coach” (Golf Digest) distills the lessons of a private strategy session into an indispensable “soft skills” companion. Credited with transforming the short games of world-class golfers like Rory McIlroy, Phil Mickelson, Annika Sorenstam, and Yani Tseng, Dave Stockton is one of the most sought-after coaches in golf. Yet Stockton’s natural abilities are more like the average player’s than those of most tour superstars. Not particularly long off the tee and average in terms of ballstriking, Stockton has won multiple major championships through a willingness to set his ego aside and analyze his game objectively—precisely what make him so effective as an instructor. The hallmark of Stockton’s coaching is the idea that “trying doesn’t work.” He shows students how to get out of their own way and let their subconscious take over. In Own Your Game, Stockton recreates the experience of riding eighteen holes with him at one of his highly sought-after corporate outings. He explains how any player can learn to use his or her mind effectively—both in the microcosm of the shot at hand and in plotting a way through a round. Amateur golfers are tired of trying to imitate the swings of the pros—to mostly disastrous results. Stockton gives players the tools and the freedom to play better with the swing they currently have. Portable, conversational, practical—and complete with a mini-guide to playing business golf with colleagues and clients—Own Your Game shows how players at all levels can master the all-important mental game.

Peter Lightbown is a golf instructor with a difference a professional who, out of complete frustration with his own game, and the traditional emphasis on technique, felt compelled to develop a revolutionary approach to golf. The endless quest for technical perfection is familiar to both professional and amateur golfers; an obsession which threatens to kill the simple pleasure of the game. As a professional, Peter realised that technical instruction only served to make his style tense and awkward. He no longer enjoyed playing and the quality of his game deteriorated until it occurred to him that he had to look at things in a different light, and develop a simpler, more natural and instinctive approach to golf. The result is The Fairway Within. This superb book draws on principles of Pilates, the Alexander Technique, the Feldenkrais Method, Eastern philosophy, yoga, and Tai Chi to show golfers how to liberate themselves from the straitjacket of traditional technique. It offers a natural approach to improving and enjoying your game. In this practical book, which is full of detailed explanations and photographs, you will learn how to move freely and spontaneously, and so uncover your own innate swing. When this individual and expressive movement begins to emerge, playing golf becomes the pleasurable and satisfying experience it is meant to be. Here at last is a method which takes golfers beyond external complexity, and reveals the internal principles of balance, relaxation and rhythm that underlie good style. The Fairway Within is an inspired and inspiring guide that works for golfers at all levels.
