This is a book which holds a very large amount of my ideological beliefs, which form a new ideology quite unlike any other before it. I dream of a better world, a healthier world. A world where people are safe and all products which poison the minds and lead to human destruction don’t exist. A world where animal species are never driven to extinction and co-exist with people rather well, where many natural areas of the world remain untouched, unpolluted and humans are safe from the natural hazards of the world and the unnatural hazards of the world. An economic system which is fair and relatively stable and where jobs are as easy to get as merely talking. A world where every religion is at peace with the other, as are its followers to followers of another. A justice system which is real justice and countries whom many people can say their honestly proud of being a citizen of. A world free of economic corruption and instability. Grasslands as green as the deepest green and forests which have trees not seldom seen. A world where everyone can claim free speech, no matter how outrageous, radical, stupid or barbaric it may sound to those people with differing views. The name of this new ideological belief should be officially called Distributionism. This book mainly focuses on the United Kingdom and what’s best for the United Kingdom, but it can be read comfortably by people who aren’t UK citizens.

This book combines three Foreign Policy Analysis (FPA) models to explain both how and why the US and UK decided to invade Iraq in 2003. These three FPA models each examine a different but closely related aspect of the individual level of decision-making. Firstly, Groupthink examines how pathologies of small-group decision-making affected the processes in the US and UK decision to invade Iraq. Secondly, the Leadership Style framework examines how the individual leader’s style of exercising their leadership affected the navigation of the decision-making process. Thirdly, analogical reasoning examines how decision-makers frame their actions both in their own decision-making, and in how they present their decision to the wider public. By achieving these objectives, “The Road to War” contributes to the field of FPA, and to our understanding of how the decision to invade Iraq was taken. The comparative use of these FPA models within a single framework means that this book responds to the calls for multifactorial research within FPA, proposing and testing a framework that provides more complex answers through adopting a multifactorial framework. These more nuanced, complex answers then reveal more about the role of the individuals involved in the decision to invade Iraq, and how their cognition affected the process that led to the decision to invade.

The Government must start thinking strategically about energy security to protect the UK's energy supply against short-term shocks and rising global energy prices, according to a report by MPs on the Energy and Climate Change Committee. Gas storage capacity needs to be increased in the UK to minimise the potential damage from supply interruptions or price spikes, the report argues. It reveals that the UK's current storage capacity amounts to only 14 days worth of gas supply - a dangerously low level compared with France which has 87 days worth of gas storage, Germany 69 and Italy 59. 19 gigawatts (GW) of ageing electricity plant will close by 2018 and the UK will become increasingly reliant on energy imports as North Sea oil and gas reserves decline. The report concludes that new electricity generation currently being built or planned will fill this "gap". But it urges the Government to ensure security of supply by delivering on its energy efficiency targets, rolling out smart meters - that can balance demand - and maintaining a diverse energy mix.
