Quantitative Sociodynamics written by Dirk Helbing and has been published by Springer Science & Business Media this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2010-11-15 with Mathematics categories.

When I wrote the book Quantitative Sociodynamics, it was an early attempt to make methods from statistical physics and complex systems theory fruitful for the modeling and understanding of social phenomena. Unfortunately, the ?rst edition appeared at a quite prohibitive price. This was one reason to make these chapters available again by a new edition. The other reason is that, in the meantime, many of the methods discussed in this book are more and more used in a variety of different ?elds. Among the ideas worked out in this book are: 1 • a statistical theory of binary social interactions, • a mathematical formulation of social ?eld theory, which is the basis of social 2 force models, • a microscopic foundation of evolutionary game theory, based on what is known today as ‘proportional imitation rule’, a stochastic treatment of interactions in evolutionary game theory, and a model for the self-organization of behavioral 3 conventions in a coordination game. It, therefore, appeared reasonable to make this book available again, but at a more affordable price. To keep its original character, the translation of this book, which 1 D. Mapping The Travel Behavior Genome written by Konstadinos G. Goulias and has been published by Elsevier this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2019-10-26 with Transportation categories.

Mapping the Travel Behavior Genome covers the latest research on the biological, motivational, cognitive, situational, and dispositional factors that drive activity-travel behavior. Organized into three sections, Retrospective and Prospective Survey of Travel Behavior Research, New Research Methods and Findings, and Future Research, the chapters of this book provide evidence of progress made in the most recent years in four dimensions of the travel behavior genome. These dimensions are Substantive Problems, Theoretical and Conceptual Frameworks, Behavioral Measurement, and Behavioral Analysis. Including the movement of goods as well as the movement of people, the book shows how traveler values, norms, attitudes, perceptions, emotions, feelings, and constraints lead to observed behavior; how to design efficient infrastructure and services to meet tomorrow's needs for accessibility and mobility; how to assess equity and distributional justice; and how to assess and implement policies for improving sustainability and quality of life. Mapping the Travel Behavior Genome examines the paradigm shift toward more dynamic, user-centric, demand-responsive transport services, including the "sharing economy," mobility as a service, automation, and robotics. This volume provides research directions to answer behavioral questions emerging from these upheavals.

Behavior Dynamics In Media Sharing Social Networks written by H. Vicky Zhao and has been published by Cambridge University Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2011-04-14 with Technology & Engineering categories.

In large-scale media-sharing social networks, where millions of users create, share, link and reuse media content, there are clear challenges in protecting content security and intellectual property, and in designing scalable and reliable networks capable of handling high levels of traffic. This comprehensive resource demonstrates how game theory can be used to model user dynamics and optimize design of media-sharing networks. It reviews the fundamental methodologies used to model and analyze human behavior, using examples from real-world multimedia social networks. With a thorough investigation of the impact of human factors on multimedia system design, this accessible book shows how an understanding of human behavior can be used to improve system performance. Bringing together mathematical tools and engineering concepts with ideas from sociology and human behavior analysis, this one-stop guide will enable researchers to explore this emerging field further and ultimately design media-sharing systems with more efficient, secure and personalized services.

Guide To Computer Network Security written by Joseph Migga Kizza and has been published by Springer Nature this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2024-01-19 with Computers categories.

This timely textbook presents a comprehensive guide to the core topics in computing and information security and assurance realms, going beyond the security of networks to the ubiquitous mobile communications and online social networks that have become part of daily life. In the context of growing human dependence on a digital ecosystem, this book stresses the importance of security awareness—whether in homes, businesses, or public spaces. It also embraces the new and more agile and artificial-intelligence-boosted computing systems models, online social networks, and virtual platforms that are interweaving and fueling growth of an ecosystem of intelligent digital and associated social networks. This fully updated edition features new material on new and developing artificial intelligence models across all computing security systems spheres, blockchain technology, and the metaverse, leading toward security systems virtualizations. Topics and features: Explores the range of risks and vulnerabilities in all connected digital systems Presents exercises of varying levels of difficulty at the end of each chapter, and concludes with a diverse selection of practical projects Describes the fundamentals of traditional computer network security, and common threats to security Discusses the role and challenges of artificial intelligence in advancing the security of computing systems’ algorithms, protocols, and best practices Raises thought-provoking questions regarding legislative, legal, social, technical, and ethical challenges, such as the tension between privacy and security Offers supplementary material for students and instructors at an associated website, including slides, additional projects, and syllabus suggestions This important textbook/reference is an invaluable resource for students of computer science, engineering, and information management, as well as for practitioners working in data- and information-intensive industries. Professor Joseph Migga Kizza is a professor, former Head of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, and a former Director of the UTC InfoSec Center, at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, USA. He also authored the successful Springer textbooks Ethical and Social Issues in the Information Age and Ethical and Secure Computing: A Concise Module.

Neural Networks In Transport Applications written by Veli Himanen and has been published by Routledge this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2019-07-09 with Social Science categories.

First published in 1998, this volume enters the debate on human behaviour in the form of neural networks in a spatial context. As most transportation research techniques had been developed in the 1960s and 1970s, these authors sought to bring that research into the modern era. Featuring 17 articles from 37 contributors, it begins with an overview and proceeds to examine aspects of travel behaviour, traffic flow and traffic management.

Handbook Of Attitudes Volume 2 Applications written by Dolores Albarracin and has been published by Routledge this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2018-10-10 with Psychology categories.

Attitudes are evaluations of people, places, things, and ideas. They help us to navigate through a complex world. They provide guidance for decisions about which products to buy, how to travel to work, or where to go on vacation. They color our perceptions of others. Carefully crafted interventions can change attitudes and behavior. Yet attitudes, beliefs, and behavior are often formed and changed in casual social exchanges. The mere perception that other people—say, rich people— favor something may be sufficient to make another person favor it. People’s own actions also influence their attitudes, such that they adjust to be more supportive of the actions. People’s belief systems even change to align with and support their preferences, which at its extreme is a form of denial for which people lack awareness. These two volumes of The Handbook of Attitudes provide authoritative, critical surveys of theory and research about attitudes, beliefs, persuasion, and behavior from key authors in these areas. This second volume covers applications to measurement, behavior prediction, and interventions in the areas of cancer, HIV, substance use, diet, and exercise, as well as in politics, intergroup relations, aggression, migrations, advertising, accounting, education, and the environment.
