AUTHOR'S MESSAGE TO READERS. No matter what our perception is in relation to the subject of war and peace in our modern times, we have an inherent obligation to inculcate a spirit of lucidity and responsibility to reject erratic and ferment principles of politics that may jeopardize our determination to make our world a peaceful place. What is required is that we open up to the truth of the past and inculcate the good principles of politics into our contemporary culture of peace. The rethinking of ancient philosophy of peace is to reanimate us once again with the wisdom of the past in our search today for order and tranquility (tranquillitas ordinis). The philosophy of peace of the ancient times is not a monolith, for sure we can detect minor deficiencies and utopian elements in it, nevertheless its profundity and uniqueness offers those who study it something exceptional, distinctive, and pure, that has stood the test of time and all forms of cultural alterations over the centuries. Ancient philosophy has introduced us to the basic truth thus; peace is inner repose and outer harmony, and the person is at peace when he is not anguished inwardly by conflicting desires whilst living in harmony with others. Ancient philosophy affirms that men are intelligent and willing beings and are naturally called to build peace in their lives and in the society, this is true because any man who has examined history and human nature will agree with me that there is no such thing as a human heart that does not crave for peace and happiness. With a good modus operandi and determination we can build sound politics and social organization of peace, because peace is the only thing that can hold the human family together.

The Quest For Peace written by James Turner Johnson and has been published by Princeton University Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2017-03-14 with Political Science categories.

James Turner Johnson goes beyond the examination of moral restraints on the occasion and conduct of war to a critical study of the moral thinking that has aimed at its prevention. This scrutiny of the peace issue" in Western society covers nearly two thousand years of history and three traditions of the search for peace: the just war tradition of setting limits to war, the sectarian pacifism of withdrawal from the world and its evils, and the Utopian world-perfecting pacifism that finds the cure for discord among nations in the establishment of a new, more nearly universal, and rightly constituted political order. Revealing the historical depth of all three traditions, the book shows that contemporary "nuclear pacifism" derives from forms of thought that are centuries old. Originally published in 1987. The Princeton Legacy Library uses the latest print-on-demand technology to again make available previously out-of-print books from the distinguished backlist of Princeton University Press. The fast pace of the technological development during the past about two decades, particularly in television and information technology, has put up such an enormous and sudden pressure on the human mind that the man of today has difficulty bearing it. Quest for Peace examines the gap between the reality and the illusions of life that is widening every day. Man's desire for material things has increased to the extent that we are not able to make the right choices and maintain the correct balance in our lives. Science has delivered many wonderful things to us, but we have lost the peace and calm of a less harried life. We are just running without knowing what exactly we need and what we don't need. The moral values that might help to balance the situation seem to have taken a back seat to the fast pace of today's world. In his poetry collection, Quest for Peace, author Amrik Binapal chronicles his innermost thoughts based upon his life experiences with the hope that it might ease the pressure of everyday life for everyone. Work Hard and Stay Humble Only after experiencing Pain and hardship, Do we realize, Peace and its true essence. Only after surviving Destruction and death, Do we understand and appreciate, The real value of life
