Il nostro Paese, negli ultimi anni, ha conosciuto una significativa e diffusa rinascita dell’interesse e dell’attenzione verso l’arte contemporanea, sia da parte dei cittadini che delle istituzioni centrali e periferiche. Mai come in questi ultimi anni si è infatti assistito ad una vivacità di iniziative rivolte ad ogni aspetto della creatività contemporanea si pensi, in particolare, al MAXXI di Roma, al MART di Rovereto e all’attuale edizione della Biennale di Venezia. Questo volume è una importante manifestazione della volontà politica di accordo tra lo Stato e gli altri livelli di governo operanti sul territorio nazionale, nel settore dell’arte contemporanea. In questi luoghi, con programmazioni diverse e differenti obiettivi - rispetto al territorio, agli statuti e alle competenze entro i quali si andava ad operare - è emersa con urgenza la necessità di colmare un vuoto programmatico nei confronti di esigenze da troppo tempo lasciate disattese. Si tratta di una prima risposta concreta nella certezza che il perseguimento di un’efficace politica dell’arte contemporanea possa garantire, anche in tempi brevi, il reale rilancio di un sistema nazionale. Tramite il Patto per l’Arte contemporanea, le Amministrazioni pubbliche - Stato, Regioni, Province autonome, Enti locali – definiranno difatti un criterio integrato per individuare obiettivi e azioni prioritarie, facendo soprattutto leva sugli strumenti di programmazione e pianificazione. Finalizzato alle attività di promozione e valorizzazione del patrimonio contemporaneo italiano, oltrechè al suo incremento, il Patto per l’arte contemporanea si propone di avviare un significativo sviluppo del sistema italiano in questo settore, anche per quanto riguarda la promozione internazionale. Tra i principali obiettivi vi sarà quello di individuare – e questa pubblicazione ne rappresenta il primo passo – una rete di musei ed istituti di interesse culturale, attivi nel settore delle arti del presente. Il passo successivo sarà poi la ricognizione, catalogazione e condivisione di banche dati in materia di patrimonio d’arte contemporanea. Tutto ciò costituirà la premessa necessaria all’individuazione delle iniziative che assumerà il Comitato Guida rappresentativo di tutte le Amministrazioni. Questo percorso condiviso contribuirà sensibilmente alla crescita di un terreno fertile per le moderne espressioni artistiche, rilanciando in questo modo il nostro Paese nel dibattito culturale contemporaneo e permettendo ai cittadini di cogliere appieno i più recenti sviluppi internazionali.

Il presente volume dà conto di musei pubblici e privati e istituzioni assimilabili; fondazioni; strutture espositive permanenti e aperte al pubblico che si avvalgono anche di finanziamenti pubblici. rilevati, selezionati e schedati secondo criteri e metodi, che pur nelle non irrilevanti differenze, sono riconducibili all'approccio ed alla logica unitari che hanno guidato la ricerca. L'edizione 2012 è uno strumento che vuole dunque essere innovativo, non un mero aggiornamento di quanto pubblicato nel 2003, e parte dal presupposto che, soprattutto negli ultimi anni, il settore del contemporaneo in Italia sta assumendo un sempre crescente rilievo, accanto a realtà già consolidate da tempo e presenti sul territorio italiano. In questo senso le politiche della Direzione Generale per il paesaggio, le belle arti, l'architettura e l'arte contemporanee, attivate anche attraverso il Piano per l'arte contemporanea, sono indirizzate ad una conoscenza più approfondita e alla piena comprensione del posto che esse occupano nella società di oggi e al ruolo che svolgono nella formazione dell'identità culturale del nostro paese; ruolo che trova un suo fondamentale compimento nel rapporto dialettico che l'architettura, ma anche l'arte, ha con il contesto storico, ambientale e paesaggistico. “The Places of Contemporary Art – 2012” is a useful tool for visitors and contemporary art enthusiasts; it provides a comprehensive list of contemporary art centres in Italy, indicates new fields of specialised research, and presents potentially new itineraries of contemporary art venues. This book provides information about public and private museums and similar institutions; foundations; publicly financed permanent exhibition venues open to the public surveyed, selected and classified according to criteria and methods which, although different, are all based on the approach and unitary logic adopted by the study. The 2012 edition is an innovative tool and not merely an updated version of the previous edition published in 2003. Its premise is based on the increasingly important role played by contemporary art in Italy in recent years together with the already consolidated reality of Italian heritage. The policies of the Directorate General for the landscape, fine arts, architecture and contemporary art implemented in the Plan for contemporary art are intended to provide more in-depth and comprehensive information regarding their status in modern society and the role they play in creating Italy's cultural identity, a role expressed to the full in the dialectic relationship between architecture – as well as art – and the country's historical, environmental and landscape heritage.

Il lavoro progettuale condotto per la città di Acerra ha rappresentato, per gli studenti dell’ultimo anno del corso di studi in Architettura 5UE, un esperimento di grande rilevanza, dal punto di vista progettuale e professionale, verso lo sviluppo di un approccio teso a trovare una risposta adeguata e concreta alle molteplici necessità poste dalla realtà del contesto in cui opera. La pubblicazione raccoglie gli esiti del lavoro svolto nell’arco dell’anno accademico 2021-2022, ponendo in evidenza la molteplicità di aspetti e temi progettuali affrontati, così come la varietà delle soluzioni proposte. La struttura del libro rispecchia tale approccio sperimentale, a partire dall’esplorazione di alcuni temi e metodi preliminari, esaminati nella sezione “Saggi”; proseguendo attraverso lo strumento del “mapping” e la raccolta degli esiti del confronto con l’amministrazione comunale, l’ambiente e le persone che abitano quei luoghi; giungendo, infine, alla messa a sistema e ad una “sintesi” delle informazioni e delle indagini effettuate attraverso le proposte progettuali, descritte nella sezione “Progetti”. Ciascun tema progettuale prevede un approfondimento teorico, attraverso due saggi introduttivi e numerose declinazioni progettuali che provano in maniera alternativa a fornire possibili scenari per la città. Per risolvere le criticità esistenti, ma anche per valorizzare le potenzialità e i diversi patrimoni del territorio di Acerra, le proposte progettuali sono state costruite attraverso un meccanismo di innesto e connessioni nell’esistente, non orientato alla definizione di una forma compiuta e di una funzione predeterminata, ma che, al contrario, ha consentito di lavorare su un’idea di forma aperta, che ha riutilizzato quanto esiste, che ha incluso molteplici possibilità di uso e che ha cambiato continuamente la propria perimetrazione, estendendosi e inglobando pezzi urbani di diversa natura. Scenari di nuovi possibili significati e nuove trasformazioni urbane sono, dunque, il risultato di questo lavoro, composto da diversi livelli di approfondimento legati all’idea generale di Acerra come città di spazi dell’apprendimento diffusi.
