E gli interventi di Francesco Turchetto e Anselmo Lemesin, che aprono questo volume, sono al riguardo preziosi e illuminanti (oltretutto sono i primi per Treviso). Ma si possono semplicemente guardare le vecchie cartoline come si guardano le nostre fotografie di tanti anni fa: solo noi ci riconosciamo, sappiamo vedere una continuità nei tratti del viso, negli occhi, in qualche altro particolare rimasto indenne dall'assalto del tempo. Così per i paesi, per la città. Solo chi in quel luogo è nato oppure è vissuto sa riconoscere, in quella strada ora così larga, in quell'osteria ora snack bar, in quella Riviera dove solo il corso del fiume è rimasto lo stesso, i luoghi in cui ha trascorso momenti tanto importanti.
