Intertwining Criminal Justice And Immigration Control In The Eu written by Niovi Vavoula and has been published by Taylor & Francis this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2025-09-09 with Law categories.
This book offers a contemporary understanding of the state of the art of "crimmigration" with a focus on the European Union and challenges this paradigm of intersecting criminal justice and immigration control. The contributions to this book explore the conceptual and philosophical underpinnings of EU and national policies intertwining criminal and migration law, as well as their practical use (and abuse). They analyse migration control through criminal law from multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary perspectives, incorporating insights from law, philosophy, and criminology. The book revisits fundamental questions on the suitability of criminal law to regulate and govern migration and provides insights as to whether and how the law should be amended to limit the negative consequences of the criminalisation of migration. The authors critique the key legal challenges crimmigration poses in terms of legality, fundamental rights, and rule of law adherence. Finally, this volume outlines, through concrete examples, how criminalisation of migration translates into the emergence of hostile environments for migrants and those who assist them. This book will be of interest to criminologists, sociologists, legal scholars, and all those engaged in studies on migration and the European Union.

China has developed into the leading market for e-mobility and for the use of autonomous robotaxis, AI and data. The established manufacturers have to change much more quickly based on clear objectives in order not to lose touch and to still be able to achieve the Paris climate goals. The industry is changing comprehensively from a vehicle-focused to a mobility-oriented business model. More and more processes, even entire business areas, will run automatically based on AI and new technologies will change sales and aftersales structures. More and more data is being created, which also enables new, profitable products. The switch to e-vehicles with an appropriate charging environment, the use of mobility services instead of car ownership, climate-neutral production and the circular economy must be addressed more quickly. The third edition of the book provides complete information on the digital transformations that are still absolutely necessary and taking into account the latest developments revised edition comprehensive and pragmatic answers to current questions: How should new technologies be used in a structured manner and where will AI lead to significant changes? This book offers a multidisciplinary and in-depth analysis of the One Health approach. The holistic One Health vision, a healthcare model based on the integration of various disciplines, is both ancient and current. It is based on the recognition that human health, animal health and ecosystem health are inextricably linked. Cognizant of the need for multidisciplinary research to address complex health challenges at the national and international level, the book combines legal, public policy and medical perspectives on the One Health approach, exploring e.g. the role of biodiversity, human rights, trade agreements, indigenous knowledge, and climate change mitigation and adaptation. One Health is officially recognized by the European Commission and by a host of international organizations as a relevant strategy for actors in all sectors that benefit from collaboration between disciplines (doctors, veterinarians, lawyers, environmentalists, economists, sociologists etc.). One Health is an ideal approach to achieving global health, as it addresses the needs of the most vulnerable populations based on the intimate relationship between their own health, that of their animals, and that of the environment in which they live, considering the wide spectrum of determinants that emerge from this relationship. Given its scope, the book will be of interest to academics, professionals, and students of all disciplines who engage with the One Health approach.

The contributors attempt to describe Polish rivers and lakes as a nexus of narratives about nature culture, pointing out those elements of the story around which scientific, political, media, social and ecological narratives are created. All of them influence the shape of reflection on the water ecosystem and its function in Polish education. The authors recreate old and contemporary Polish mythmaking narratives about Polish rivers and lakes and, by proposing a critical reading of them, try to develop new educational practices that would take into account the 21st century conditions related to the climate catastrophe. The context related to the crisis also opens up thinking about rivers to other categories (cooperation, solidarity, activism) than those that have been applicable in Polish education so far (national symbolism, utility).

This book advances a new interdisciplinary approach that engages with the concepts of science and literature through the mediation of philosophy (with a focus on the ideas of Gilbert Simondon and Gilles Deleuze). It investigates in innovative ways the multifaceted dimensions of creation, of genesis, considered here in artistic and mathematical terms as “heterogenesis”. The dialogic interaction among the three domains generates a renewed analysis of poems selected in the work of particularly inventive poets, both French and American—Emily Dickinson, e.e. cummings and Francis Ponge—as well as the artwork of Pierre Soulages, Anna-Eva Bergman and Cy Twombly. Literary Heterogenesis. Diagrammatic Dynamics. The Interplay of the Virtual and the Actual will interest specialists of mathematics, physics, literary theory and criticism, philosophy, and epistemology. It will also attract any curious mind drawn to the bridging of disciplines and the concepts of the two cultures.
