Traces the consolidation of a specialty, as the various feedback control devices used in the 1930s for aircraft and ships, the telephone system, and analogue computers, were brought together during World War II to form what is now known as the classical frequency response methods of analysis and design, and applied to non-linear, sampled-data, and stochastic systems. Follows the field's development through the post-war addition of the root locus method to the introduction of the state-space methods of modern control. Distributed by INSPEC. Control Engineering Solutions written by P. Albertos Pérez and has been published by IET this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 1997 with Science categories.

This book collects together in one volume a number of suggested control engineering solutions which are intended to be representative of solutions applicable to a broad class of control problems. It is neither a control theory book nor a handbook of laboratory experiments, but it does include both the basic theory of control and associated practical laboratory set-ups to illustrate the solutions proposed.

Dissipativity In Control Engineering written by Alexander Schaum and has been published by Walter de Gruyter GmbH & Co KG this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2021-07-19 with Technology & Engineering categories.

Dissipativity, as a natural mechanism of energy interchange is common to many physical systems that form the basis of modern automated control applications. Over the last decades it has turned out as a useful concept that can be generalized and applied in an abstracted form to very different system setups, including ordinary and partial differential equation models. In this monograph, the basic notions of stability, dissipativity and systems theory are connected in order to establish a common basis for designing system monitoring and control schemes. The approach is illustrated with a set of application examples covering finite and infinite-dimensional models, including a ship steering model, the inverted pendulum, chemical and biological reactors, relaxation oscillators, unstable heat equations and first-order hyperbolic integro-differential equations.

Offshore Mechatronics Systems Engineering written by Hamid Reza Karimi and has been published by CRC Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2018-07-04 with Science categories.

The book gives a systematical and almost self-contained description of the many facets of envisaging, designing, implementing or experimentally exploring offshore mechatronics and systems along the adequate designs of integrated modeling, safety, control and supervision infrastructure. With the rapid improvements in offshore technologies in various fields such as oil and gas industry, wind energy, robotics and logistics, many researchers in academia and industry have focused on technology-based challenges raised in offshore environment. This book introduces novel theoretical or practical techniques for offshore mechatronics systems. Chapters cover general application model-based systems engineering, wind energy, control systems, mechanics, health monitoring, safety critical human-machine systems, logistics and offshore industrial complexes such as oil and gas operations, robotics, large space structures and autonomous underwater vehicles, and some other advanced technologies. The core feature of this book is that of establishing synergies of modeling, control, computing and mechanics in order to achieve not only robust plant system operation but also properties such as safety, cost, integrity and survivability while retaining desired performance quality. The book provides innovative insights into applications aspects and theoretical understanding of complex offshore mechatronics systems that has emerged in recent years, either via physical implementations or via extensive computer simulations in addition to sound innovated theoretical developments. It will serve as a reference for graduate and postgraduate students and for researchers in all engineering disciplines, including mechanical engineering, electrical engineering and applied mathematics to explore the state-of-theart techniques for solving problems of integrated modeling, control and supervision of complex offshore plants with collective safety and robustness. Thus it shall be useful as a guidance for system engineering practitioners and system theoretic researchers alike.
