Dissipativity In Control Engineering written by Alexander Schaum and has been published by Walter de Gruyter GmbH & Co KG this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2021-07-19 with Technology & Engineering categories.

Dissipativity, as a natural mechanism of energy interchange is common to many physical systems that form the basis of modern automated control applications. Over the last decades it has turned out as a useful concept that can be generalized and applied in an abstracted form to very different system setups, including ordinary and partial differential equation models. In this monograph, the basic notions of stability, dissipativity and systems theory are connected in order to establish a common basis for designing system monitoring and control schemes. The approach is illustrated with a set of application examples covering finite and infinite-dimensional models, including a ship steering model, the inverted pendulum, chemical and biological reactors, relaxation oscillators, unstable heat equations and first-order hyperbolic integro-differential equations.

Dissipative Systems Analysis And Control written by Rogelio Lozano and has been published by Springer this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2000-06-14 with Computers categories.

This book deals with the analysis and feedback control of dissipative dynamical systems. It constitutes an advanced introduction to the topic, an introduction that is aimed at readers interested in the applications of dissipative systems theory within systems, control, and robotics. It presents the reader with a thorough treatment of the background to dissipative systems theory. It examines linear and nonlinear systems, providing comprehensive examples of these in each chapter. Some infinite-dimensional and nonsmooth examples are also included. Throughout the book the emphasis is placed on the application of dissipative dynamical systems towards the design of stable feedback control laws. The theory is consistently illustrated by physical examples, (Lagrangian and Hamiltonian systems are thoroughly covered, as are adaptive controllers). The book shows how the dissipative properties of a system can be used in the design of stable feedback controllers. These theoretical developments are backed up by experimental results. It includes chapters on: • Positive Real Systems • The Kalman-Yakubovich-Popov Lemma • Dissipative Systems • Passivity-Based Control • Adaptive Control

Impulsive And Hybrid Dynamical Systems written by Wassim M. Haddad and has been published by Princeton University Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2014-09-08 with Mathematics categories.

This book develops a general analysis and synthesis framework for impulsive and hybrid dynamical systems. Such a framework is imperative for modern complex engineering systems that involve interacting continuous-time and discrete-time dynamics with multiple modes of operation that place stringent demands on controller design and require implementation of increasing complexity--whether advanced high-performance tactical fighter aircraft and space vehicles, variable-cycle gas turbine engines, or air and ground transportation systems. Impulsive and Hybrid Dynamical Systems goes beyond similar treatments by developing invariant set stability theorems, partial stability, Lagrange stability, boundedness, ultimate boundedness, dissipativity theory, vector dissipativity theory, energy-based hybrid control, optimal control, disturbance rejection control, and robust control for nonlinear impulsive and hybrid dynamical systems. A major contribution to mathematical system theory and control system theory, this book is written from a system-theoretic point of view with the highest standards of exposition and rigor. It is intended for graduate students, researchers, and practitioners of engineering and applied mathematics as well as computer scientists, physicists, and other scientists who seek a fundamental understanding of the rich dynamical behavior of impulsive and hybrid dynamical systems.

Networks Of Dissipative Systems written by Murat Arcak and has been published by Springer this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2016-03-01 with Technology & Engineering categories.

This book addresses a major problem for today’s large-scale networked systems: certification of the required stability and performance properties using analytical and computational models. On the basis of illustrative case studies, it demonstrates the applicability of theoretical methods to biological networks, vehicle fleets, and Internet congestion control. Rather than tackle the network as a whole —an approach that severely limits the ability of existing methods to cope with large numbers of physical components— the book develops a compositional approach that derives network-level guarantees from key structural properties of the components and their interactions. The foundational tool in this approach is the established dissipativity theory, which is reviewed in the first chapter and supplemented with modern computational techniques. The book blends this theory with the authors’ recent research efforts at a level that is accessible to graduate students and practising engineers familiar with only the most basic nonlinear systems concepts. Code associated with the numerical examples can be downloaded at extras.springer.com, allowing readers to reproduce the examples and become acquainted with the relevant software.

Modern complex large-scale dynamical systems exist in virtually every aspect of science and engineering, and are associated with a wide variety of physical, technological, environmental, and social phenomena, including aerospace, power, communications, and network systems, to name just a few. This book develops a general stability analysis and control design framework for nonlinear large-scale interconnected dynamical systems, and presents the most complete treatment on vector Lyapunov function methods, vector dissipativity theory, and decentralized control architectures. Large-scale dynamical systems are strongly interconnected and consist of interacting subsystems exchanging matter, energy, or information with the environment. The sheer size, or dimensionality, of these systems necessitates decentralized analysis and control system synthesis methods for their analysis and design. Written in a theorem-proof format with examples to illustrate new concepts, this book addresses continuous-time, discrete-time, and hybrid large-scale systems. It develops finite-time stability and finite-time decentralized stabilization, thermodynamic modeling, maximum entropy control, and energy-based decentralized control. This book will interest applied mathematicians, dynamical systems theorists, control theorists, and engineers, and anyone seeking a fundamental and comprehensive understanding of large-scale interconnected dynamical systems and control.

This book deals with the analysis and feedback control of dissipative dynamical systems. It presents the background of dissipative systems theory. Linear as well as nonlinear systems are treated, and many examples are given throughout the chapters. Some infinite dimensional and non-smooth examples are also included. The emphasis is put on the application towards the design of stable feedback control laws. Then the theory is illustrated on physical examples; (Lagrangian and Hamiltonian systems are thoroughly studied, as well as adaptive control). It is shown how the dissipativity properties of a system can be used in the design of stable feedback controllers. Some experimental results are presented which corroborate the theoretical developments. This monograph is primarily for readers who wish to get aquainted with Dissipative Systems Theory, and its uses in Systems and Control and Robotics. It constitutes an advanced introduction to the topic, and is the first volume ever published which is dedicated entirely to this subject.
