Indexing Of Crystal Diffraction Patterns written by Adam Morawiec and has been published by Springer Nature this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2022-09-28 with Science categories.

This book provides a detailed, self-contained description of automatic indexing of crystal diffraction patterns, considering both ab initio indexing and indexing of patterns originating from known structures. Introductory chapters equip the reader with the necessary basic knowledge of geometric crystallography, as well as kinematic and dynamic theories of crystal diffraction. Subsequent chapters delve and describe ab initio indexing of single crystal diffraction patterns and indexing of patterns for orientation determination. The book also reviews methods of indexing powder diffraction and electron spot-type patterns, as well the subject of multigrain indexing. Later chapters are devoted to diffraction by helical structures and quasicrystals, as well as some aspects of lattice parameter refinement and strain determination. The book is intended equally for materials scientists curious about ‘nuts and bolts’ of diffraction pattern indexing and orientation mapping systems, as well as interdisciplinary researchers from physics, chemistry, and biology involved in crystallographic computing. It provides a rigorous, yet accessible, treatment of the subject matter for graduate students interested in understanding the functioning of diffraction pattern indexing engines.

Orientation Of Single Crystals By Back Reflection Laue Pattern Simulation written by Carlos Mar¡n and has been published by World Scientific this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 1999 with Science categories.

Laue-grams are the easiest X-ray diffraction patterns that can be obtained and are very useful for orienting single crystals and finding out the symmetry of a projection. Despite the simplicity of the experimental equipment, the orientation work is a costly and time consuming process. It would be a great advantage to be able to simulate any kind of Laue-gram and to identify an unknown crystal orientation, including anisotropic ones. This book presents the complete numerical algorithms for simulation of X-ray back-reflection Laue-grams by evaluating the main factors that affect the intensities of the Laue-gram spots. To demonstrate the potential of the computational procedures developed, an example of every crystal system is shown. A PC diskette is included with this book, to be used for simulation and indexing of any back-reflection Laue pattern.

Transmission Electron Microscopy And Diffractometry Of Materials written by Brent Fultz and has been published by Springer Science & Business Media this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2012-10-14 with Science categories.

This book explains concepts of transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and x-ray diffractometry (XRD) that are important for the characterization of materials. The fourth edition adds important new techniques of TEM such as electron tomography, nanobeam diffraction, and geometric phase analysis. A new chapter on neutron scattering completes the trio of x-ray, electron and neutron diffraction. All chapters were updated and revised for clarity. The book explains the fundamentals of how waves and wavefunctions interact with atoms in solids, and the similarities and differences of using x-rays, electrons, or neutrons for diffraction measurements. Diffraction effects of crystalline order, defects, and disorder in materials are explained in detail. Both practical and theoretical issues are covered. The book can be used in an introductory-level or advanced-level course, since sections are identified by difficulty. Each chapter includes a set of problems to illustrate principles, and the extensive Appendix includes laboratory exercises.

Diamond Genesis Mineralogy And Geochemistry written by Karen Smit and has been published by Walter de Gruyter GmbH & Co KG this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2023-06-06 with Science categories.

Diamond is the record-setter in many mineralogical properties such as hardness, diffusivity, thermal conductivity, purity, and covalency of bonding. Similarly, diamond, as the premier gemstone of the mantle holds primacy for geological features such as age and depth of origin. Diamond was among the first crystalline structures to be solved by X-ray diffraction and the first materials measured for their Raman spectrum. At more than 80 billion USD in yearly commercial value, diamond sets the record for the most traded, valuable mineral on the planet. Despite its chemical simplicity, diamond has been the object of more research effort, and had more scientific and popular press pages written about it, than any other mineral.

Advances In Organic Crystal Chemistry written by Seiya Kobatake and has been published by Springer Nature this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2025-07-28 with Science categories.

This book summarizes and records the recent notable advances in diverse topics in organic crystal chemistry, which has made substantial progress along with the rapid development of a variety of analysis and measurement techniques for solid organic materials. This volume follows previously published volumes that are prepared periodically, at least every 5 years, with contributions by prominent authors in Japan and from abroad. The first volume was published in 2015, which systematically summarized the remarkable progress in assorted topics of organic crystal chemistry using organic solids and organic–inorganic hybrid materials. The second volume, published in 2020, presented advances in organic solid-state chemistry mainly from 2016 to 2020. The present volume also shows the progress of organic solid-state chemistry, especially focusing on crystal growth and crystal structure design that has been achieved mainly in the last 5 years or so. Crystal growth and crystal structure design described in this book is helpful for not only readers who study organic crystals but also those who study inorganic crystals, materials chemistry, coordination chemistry, and organometallic chemistry.
