This volume is devoted to integral inequalities of the Gronwall-Bellman-Bihari type. Following a systematic exposition of linear and nonlinear inequalities, attention is paid to analogues including integro-differential inequalities, functional differential inequalities, and discrete and abstract analogues. Applications to the investigation of the properties of solutions of various classes of equations such as uniqueness, stability, dichotomy, asymptotic equivalence and behaviour is also discussed. The book comprises three chapters. Chapter I and II consider classical linear and nonlinear integral inequalities. Chapter III is devoted to various classes of integral inequalities of Gronwall type, and their analogues, which find applications in the theory of integro-differential equations, partial differential equations, differential equations with deviating argument, impube differential equations, etc. Each chapter concludes with a section illustrating the manner of application. The book also contains an extensive bibliography. For researchers whose work involves the theory and application of integral inequalities in mathematics, engineering and physics.

"Prof. Nitis Mukhopadhyay and Prof. Partha Pratim Sengupta, who edited this volume with great attention and rigor, have certainly carried out noteworthy activities." - Giovanni Maria Giorgi, University of Rome (Sapienza) "This book is an important contribution to the development of indices of disparity and dissatisfaction in the age of globalization and social strife." - Shelemyahu Zacks, SUNY-Binghamton "It will not be an overstatement when I say that the famous income inequality index or wealth inequality index, which is most widely accepted across the globe is named after Corrado Gini (1984-1965). ... I take this opportunity to heartily applaud the two co-editors for spending their valuable time and energy in putting together a wonderful collection of papers written by the acclaimed researchers on selected topics of interest today. I am very impressed, and I believe so will be its readers." - K.V. Mardia, University of Leeds Gini coefficient or Gini index was originally defined as a standardized measure of statistical dispersion intended to understand an income distribution. It has evolved into quantifying inequity in all kinds of distributions of wealth, gender parity, access to education and health services, environmental policies, and numerous other attributes of importance. Gini Inequality Index: Methods and Applications features original high-quality peer-reviewed chapters prepared by internationally acclaimed researchers. They provide innovative methodologies whether quantitative or qualitative, covering welfare economics, development economics, optimization/non-optimization, econometrics, air quality, statistical learning, inference, sample size determination, big data science, and some heuristics. Never before has such a wide dimension of leading research inspired by Gini's works and their applicability been collected in one edited volume. The volume also showcases modern approaches to the research of a number of very talented and upcoming younger contributors and collaborators. This feature will give readers a window with a distinct view of what emerging research in this field may entail in the near future.

An Introduction To Theory And Applications Of Stationary Variational Hemivariational Inequalities written by Weimin Han and has been published by Springer Nature this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2024-11-01 with Mathematics categories.
This book offers a comprehensive and accessible introduction to the mathematical theory of stationary Variational-Hemivariational Inequalities (VHIs), a rapidly growing area of research with significant applications in science and engineering. Unlike traditional approaches that rely heavily on abstract inclusion results for pseudomonotone operators, this work presents a more user-friendly method grounded in basic Functional Analysis. VHIs include variational inequalities and hemivariational inequalities as special cases. The book systematically categorizes and names different VHIs, making it easier for readers to understand the specific problems being addressed. Designed for graduate students and researchers in mathematics, physical sciences, and engineering, this monograph not only provides a concise review of essential materials in Sobolev spaces, convex analysis, and nonsmooth analysis but also delves into applications in contact and fluid mechanics. Through detailed explanations and practical examples, the book bridges the gap between theory and practice, making the complex subject of VHIs more approachable. By focusing on the well-posedness of various forms of VHIs and extending the analysis to include mixed VHIs for the Stokes and Navier-Stokes equations, this book serves as an essential resource for anyone interested in the modeling, analysis, numerical solutions, and real-world applications of VHIs.

This volume constitutes the first part of a monograph on theory and applications of differential and integral inequalities. 'The entire work, as a whole, is intended to be a research monograph, a guide to the literature, and a textbook for advanced courses. The unifying theme of this treatment is a systematic development of the theory and applicationsof differential inequalities as well as Volterra integral inequalities. The main tools for applications are the norm and the Lyapunov functions. Familiarity with real and complex analysis, elements of general topology and functional analysis, and differential and integral equations is assumed.

Advanced Inequalities written by George A. Anastassiou and has been published by World Scientific this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2011 with Mathematics categories.
This monograph presents univariate and multivariate classical analyses of advanced inequalities. This treatise is a culmination of the author's last thirteen years of research work. The chapters are self-contained and several advanced courses can be taught out of this book. Extensive background and motivations are given in each chapter with a comprehensive list of references given at the end. The topics covered are wide-ranging and diverse. Recent advances on Ostrowski type inequalities, Opial type inequalities, Poincare and Sobolev type inequalities, and HardyOpial type inequalities are examined. Works on ordinary and distributional Taylor formulae with estimates for their remainders and applications as well as ChebyshevGruss, Gruss and Comparison of Means inequalities are studied. The results presented are mostly optimal, that is the inequalities are sharp and attained. Applications in many areas of pure and applied mathematics, such as mathematical analysis, probability, ordinary and partial differential equations, numerical analysis, information theory, etc., are explored in detail, as such this monograph is suitable for researchers and graduate students. It will be a useful teaching material at seminars as well as an invaluable reference source in all science libraries.
