Diagnosed as terminally ill, Boone Harrison’s final wish is to reunite with a long-lost offspring he had once so callously abandoned. Unable to drive the required thousand-plus miles required for the reunion, he hires Bradley Kane, a man facing down his own demons, to chauffer him down the long, winding trail from eastern Montana to northern Mississippi. As the three-day odyssey transpires, the older man regales Kane with tales of a tragic family history spanning nearly three centuries, each story more cruel, sadistic and horrifying than the last. In the face of the Boone Harrison’s rapidly deteriorating health, the pair eventually arrive at the secluded, desolate country farmhouse of the mysterious kin he has so desperate sought. As night falls beneath a fittingly foreboding blood moon on the isolated ranch, a terrifying legacy will be either put to merciful rest or given new, horrific life.

Chaos In Automatic Control written by Wilfrid Perruquetti and has been published by CRC Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2018-10-03 with Technology & Engineering categories.

Chaotic behavior arises in a variety of control settings. In some cases, it is beneficial to remove this behavior; in others, introducing or taking advantage of the existing chaotic components can be useful for example in cryptography. Chaos in Automatic Control surveys the latest methods for inserting, taking advantage of, or removing chaos in a variety of applications. This book supplies the theoretical and pedagogical basis of chaos in control systems along with new concepts and recent developments in the field. Presented in three parts, the book examines open-loop analysis, closed-loop control, and applications of chaos in control systems. The first section builds a background in the mathematics of ordinary differential and difference equations on which the remainder of the book is based. It includes an introductory chapter by Christian Mira, a pioneer in chaos research. The next section explores solutions to problems arising in observation and control of closed-loop chaotic control systems. These include model-independent control methods, strategies such as H-infinity and sliding modes, polytopic observers, normal forms using homogeneous transformations, and observability normal forms. The final section explores applications in wireless transmission, optics, power electronics, and cryptography. Chaos in Automatic Control distills the latest thinking in chaos while relating it to the most recent developments and applications in control. It serves as a platform for developing more robust, autonomous, intelligent, and adaptive systems.

Chaos And Gauge Field Theory written by T. S. Bir¢ and has been published by World Scientific this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 1994 with Science categories.

This book introduces a rapidly growing new research area ? the study of dynamical properties of elementary fields. The methods used in this field range from algebraic topology to parallel computer programming. The main aim of this research is to understand the behavior of elementary particles and fields under extreme circumstances, first of all at high temperature and energy density generated in the largest accelerators of the world and supposed to be present in the early evolution of our Universe shortly after the Big Bang.In particular, chaos is rediscovered in a new appearance in these studies: in gauge theories the well-known divergence of initially adjacent phase space trajectories leads over into a quasi-thermal distribution of energy with a saturated average distance of different field configurations. This particular behavior is due to the compactness of the gauge group.Generally this book is divided into two main parts: the first part mainly deals with the ?classical? discovery of chaos in gauge field theory while the second part presents methods and research achievements in recent years. One chapter is devoted entirely to the presentation and discussion of computational problems. The major theme, returning again and again throughout the book, is of course the phenomenon with a thousand faces ? chaos itself. This book is intended to be a research book which introduces the reader to a new research field, presenting the basic new ideas in detail but just briefly touching on the problems of other related fields, like perturbative or lattice gauge theory, or dissipative chaos. The terminology of these related fields are, however, used.Exercises are also included in this book. They deepen the reader's understanding of special issues and at the same time offer more information on related problems. For the convenience of the fast reader, solutions are presented right after the problems.

Chaotic Logic written by Ben Goertzel and has been published by Springer Science & Business Media this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2013-04-17 with Psychology categories.

This book summarizes a network of interrelated ideas which I have developed, off and on, over the past eight or ten years. The underlying theme is the psychological interplay of order and chaos. Or, to put it another way, the interplay of deduction and induction. I will try to explain the relationship between logical, orderly, conscious, rule-following reason and fluid, self organizing, habit-governed, unconscious, chaos-infused intuition. My previous two books, The Structure of Intelligence and The Evolving Mind, briefly touched on this relationship. But these books were primarily concerned with other matters: SI with constructing a formal language for discussing mentality and its mechanization, and EM with exploring the role of evolution in thought. They danced around the edges of the order/chaos problem, without ever fully entering into it. My goal in writing this book was to go directly to the core of mental process, "where angels fear to tread" -- to tackle all the sticky issues which it is considered prudent to avoid: the nature of consciousness, the relation between mind and reality, the justification of belief systems, the connection between creativity and mental illness,.... All of these issues are dealt with here in a straightforward and unified way, using a combination of concepts from my previous work with ideas from chaos theory and complex systems science.

Chaotic Signals In Digital Communications written by Marcio Eisencraft and has been published by CRC Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2018-09-03 with Technology & Engineering categories.

Chaotic Signals in Digital Communications combines fundamental background knowledge with state-of-the-art methods for using chaotic signals and systems in digital communications. The book builds a bridge between theoretical works and practical implementation to help researchers attain consistent performance in realistic environments. It shows the possible shortcomings of the chaos-based communication systems proposed in the literature, particularly when they are subjected to non-ideal conditions. It also presents a toolbox of techniques for researchers working to actually implement such systems. A Combination of Tutorials and In-Depth, Cutting-Edge Research Featuring contributions by active leading researchers, the book begins with an introduction to communication theory, dynamical systems, and chaotic communications suitable for those new to the field. This lays a solid foundation for the more applied chapters that follow. A Toolbox of Techniques—Including New Ways to Tackle Channel Imperfections The book covers typical chaos communication methods, namely chaotic masking, chaotic modulation, chaotic shift key, and symbolic message bearing, as well as bidirectional communication and secure communication. It also presents novel methodologies to deal with communication channel imperfections. These tackle band-limited channel chaos communication, radio channels with fading, and the resistance of a special chaotic signal to multipath propagations. In addition, the book addresses topics related to engineering applications, such as optical communications, chaotic matched filters and circuit implementations, and microwave frequency-modulated differential chaos shift keying (FM-DCSK) systems. Insights for Both Theoretical and Experimental Researchers Combining theory and practice, this book offers a unique perspective on chaotic communication in the context of non-ideal conditions. Written for theoretical and experimental researchers, it tackles the practical issues faced in implementing chaos-based signals and systems in digital communications applications.
