Erziehung, Note: 2,3, Evangelische Fachhochschule Freiburg, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: „Mit dem deutschen Sonderschulsystem, das fast alle Schüler mit besonderem Förderbedarf aufnimmt, ist Chancengleichheit nicht gewährleistet“ (Powell & Pfahl 2008, S.1). Äußerungen wie diese sind in der Debatte um die Abschaffung von Sonderschulen keine Seltenheit. Seit der Verabschiedung der Behindertenrechtskonvention durch die Generalversammlung der Vereinten Nationen im Jahr 2006 werden die Forderungen nach der Chancengleichheit hinsichtlich der Bildung immer lauter. Daher drängen die Sozialdemokratische Partei Deutschlands (SPD) und das Bündnis 90/Die Grünen (Grüne) auf die Abschaffung von sonderpädagogischen Schulen und sprechen sich somit für die gemeinsame Bildung von behinderten und nicht behinderten Kindern in inklusiven Schulen in Niedersachsen ab dem Schuljahr 2014/15 aus (vgl. Frenzel 2013). Da die Bildung auf Landesebene festgelegt wird, ist von dieser Entscheidung nicht das gesamte Bundesgebiet betroffen. Dennoch werden Diskussionen diesbezüglich bereits bundesweit geführt, wodurch eine Umsetzung dieser Forderung für ganz Deutschland in Zukunft nicht ausgeschlossen ist. Durch das Zusammenführen von sonderpädagogischen und Regeleinrichtungen soll behinderten Kindern eine gleichberechtigte Bildung ermöglicht werden. Ziel ist es, die Kinder aus ihrer ausgesonderten Stellung in speziellen Fördereinrichtungen herauszunehmen und sie als gleichwertiges Mitglied in die Gesellschaft einzugliedern, ohne dabei die Qualität ihrer individuellen Förderung zu beeinträchtigen. Nach Auffassung des Verfassers ist eine zukünftige Ausweitung der Abschaffungsforderung auf den Kindertagesstättenbereich, in welchem ebenfalls Kinder mit besonderem Förderbedarf speziell in sonderpädagogischen Einrichtungen unterstützt werden, denkbar. Aus diesem Grund werden in der vorliegenden Arbeit mögliche Auswirkungen der Auflösung von sonderpädagogischen Kindertageseinrichtungen diskutiert. Diese Einrichtungsform würde im Zuge der Zusammenführung behinderter und nichtbehinderte Kinder vor der Auflösung stehen. Ob dieser mögliche Gesetzesentwurf mit der momentan Aufstellung der inklusiven Einrichtungen zum Vorteil von behinderten Kindern geschieht und diesen Kindern dadurch die Chancengleichheit auf Bildung und die uneingeschränkte Teilhabe am sozialen Miteinander ermöglicht werden kann, soll in dieser Arbeit mittels Interviews mit Fachkräften sonderpädagogischer Einrichtungen ermittelt werden.

The book’s initial chapters introduce and summarize recent discussions and developments in the conceptualization, implementation, and evaluation of international large-scale context assessments and provide an outlook on possible future developments. Subsequently, three thematic sections – “Student Background”, “Outcomes of Education Beyond Achievement”, and “Learning in Schools” – each present a series of chapters that provide the conceptual background for a wide range of important topics in education research, policy, and practice. Each chapter defines a conceptual framework that relates recent findings in the educational effectiveness research literature to current issues in education policy and practice. These frameworks were used to develop interesting and relevant indicators that may be used for meaningful reporting from international assessments, other cross-cultural research, or national studies. Using the example of one particular survey (the Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA 2015)), this volume links all theoretical considerations to fully developed questionnaire material that was field trailed and evaluated in questionnaires for students and their parents as well as teachers and principals in their schools. In Racial Melancholia, Racial Dissociation critic David L. Eng and psychotherapist Shinhee Han draw on case histories from the mid-1990s to the present to explore the social and psychic predicaments of Asian American young adults from Generation X to Generation Y. Combining critical race theory with several strands of psychoanalytic thought, they develop the concepts of racial melancholia and racial dissociation to investigate changing processes of loss associated with immigration, displacement, diaspora, and assimilation. These case studies of first- and second-generation Asian Americans deal with a range of difficulties, from depression, suicide, and the politics of coming out to broader issues of the model minority stereotype, transnational adoption, parachute children, colorblind discourses in the United States, and the rise of Asia under globalization.
