In the field of equipment/product operation and maintenance (O&M) services, the new generation of information technologies such as the internet, big data, and artificial intelligence are deeply integrated with O&M services to form an internet-based Maintenance Repair & Operation (MRO) service network and an intelligent service environment. To deal with the uncertainties of multiple collaborative entities and highly random equipment failures in the large-scale MRO network, this book establishes the theory, technology, and methods of Intelligent Predictive Maintenance (IPdM) for the MRO service network through the study of high-quality acquisition and integration of multi-source heterogeneous data, data-driven equipment fault diagnosis and prediction, large-scale maintenance decision-making, feedback, and control. The book systematically elaborates on the emerging theories, technologies, and methods in the field of equipment/product O&M services, covering a wide range of topics with rich contents. It emphasizes both systematic and scientific approaches as well as practicality. It offers both comprehensive and specialized discussions to reflect the strategic deployment and implementation of China's new generation of intelligent manufacturing and artificial intelligence in this field. The basis of English translation of this book, originally in Chinese, was facilitated by artificial intelligence. The content was later revised by the author for accuracy.

Online Probabilistic Risk Assessment Of Complex Marine Systems written by Tarannom Parhizkar and has been published by Springer Nature this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2021-11-26 with Business & Economics categories.

This book proposes a new approach to dynamic and online risk assessment of automated and autonomous marine systems, taking into account different environmental and operational conditions. The book presents lessons learnt from dynamic positioning incidents and accidents, and discusses the challenges of risk assessment of complex systems. The book begins by introducing dynamic and online risk assessment, before presenting automated and autonomous marine systems, as well as numerous dynamic positioning incidents. It then discusses human interactions with technology and explores how to quantify human error. Dynamic probabilistic risk assessment and online risk assessment are both considered fully, including case studies with the application of assisting operators in decision making in emergency situations. Finally, areas for future research are suggested. This practical volume offers tools and methodologies to help operators make better decisions and improve the safety of automated and autonomous marine systems. It provides a guideline for researchers and practitioners to perform dynamic probabilistic and online risk assessment, which also should be applicable to other complex systems outside the marine and maritime domain, such as nuclear power plants, chemical processes, autonomous transport systems, and space shuttles.

Frequency Domain Nonlinear Vibration Features For Fault Diagnosis In Complex Structures written by Quankun Li and has been published by Springer Nature this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2025-03-05 with Technology & Engineering categories.

This book provides a comprehensive introduction to recent advances in frequency domain nonlinear vibration features utilized for fault diagnosis in complex structures in the field of mechanical, civil, aeronautical and aerospace engineering. It illustrates their basic principles, advantages, drawbacks and applications in detail through theoretical analysis and simulation/experimental study. This book focuses on frequency domain nonlinear vibration features and its main contents can be classified into two parts according to the introduced features. One is about features based on the SOOS (second-order output spectrum), and the other is about features based on the OS@DF (output spectrum at the double frequency or the second harmonic frequency). Complex structures in this book include satellites, aeroengines, bridges, pipelines, frames, etc., and corresponding multiple degree-of-freedom (MDOF) models include chain-type, beam-type, ring-like, grid-like, unit-like and rotating models. Detailed theoretical analysis and case demonstration help undergraduates, graduates and researchers have a systematical learning process and understand basic dynamic characteristics of complex structures more thoroughly. Then, some models, methods and results in this book can be a valid reference for the design, optimization and iteration of next-generation complex structures. On the other hand, this book provides a totally new inspiration for fault diagnosis methods combined with artificial intelligence and machine learning algorithms since frequency domain nonlinear vibration features introduced in this book are more sensitive and effective to faults.

This thesis introduces a successfully designed and commissioned intelligent health monitoring system, specifically for use on any industrial robot, which is able to predict the onset of faults in the joints of the geared transmissions. However the developed embedded wireless condition monitoring system leads itself very well for applications on any power transmission equipment in which the loads and speeds are not constant, and access is restricted. As such this provides significant scope for future development. Three significant achievements are presented in this thesis. First, the development of a condition monitoring algorithm based on vibration analysis of an industrial robot for fault detection and diagnosis. The combined use of a statistical control chart with time-domain signal analysis for detecting a fault via an arm-mounted wireless processor system represents the first stage of fault detection. Second, the design and development of a sophisticated embedded microprocessor base station for online implementation of the intelligent condition monitoring algorithm, and third, the implementation of a discrete wavelet transform, using an artificial neural network, with statistical feature extraction for robot fault diagnosis in which the vibration signals are first decomposed into eight levels of wavelet coefficients.
