This literary work shall serve as her legacy to the world and is told from her perspective in its entirety. The following passage is an example of the first person perspective which she wanted the world to see. "IN HER OWN VOICE AND WORDS" ( Yvonne Lightner ) What motivated me to write this book was being diagnosed with Lupus. I began a search for information detailing medical and personal accounts of the disease. Only to find that not a lot was out there; much of which was written twenty five to thirty or more years ago by doctors and the like; giving primarily a medical perspective. My goal was to continue searching for personal stories from your average person diagnosed, which at the time would have helped me tremendously in knowing that I was not alone in this experience. To my disappointment there weren't any. So, throughout my entire illness, I began telling myself that once I survived this ordeal; I would be writing a book detailing my personal account of what the experience was like going through and surviving lupus. Therefore, having hopes that this will somehow help to inspire all who are in the struggle to continue with the fight to live....
